more cynical now I think.... I have come to realize that humans are liars by nature which is part of their defensive stradegies... and that is not a put down...because there are few people who want to be around those who always tell the truth. I find that its safe to be skeptical but to work with what is called the Iron rule... you accept what someone says the first time and if true you continue...but if false you do not trust them the second time without better evidence.

every move is a gamble...cant avoid that.

As a group, I don't think we are any more gullible than the "average" Joe Schmoe. However, I, myself, as a person am extremely gullible............Gumby found that out! LOL! He had me believing he really was a midget and his family were all midgets............he laughed sooooo hard!

I used to be very gullible, and I got hurt many times because of it. I will give people the benefit of doubt, but will exercise caution as best I can.

It is hurtful to think that some people cannot "show" us their true selves, posting under different personality indentities here, and being "two-faced" off here. But these people do exist and being aware will help us to deal with them when the situation arises, whether it be on a forum or chat, like this place, or out in real face to face life.

Sometimes I don't believe that individuals really mean harm, but they are so very insecure and mixed up, that they have many voices in their heads, and they do not know how to be true to self. So, they live their life by taking on different charachters for whatever situation they face. In this way they must feel somewhat protected.

This is why it is important to honor "self" and to face whatever and whomever we are, and learn to live our lives honestly. This is truly loving and accepting ourselves.

Mulan, I'm going to report you to the elders.

I often wonder if I am gullible because I blindly feel for all the JW stuff, my whole life. It may have set a pattern for me, to believe what anyone I consider an authority will tell me, or if I read it.

I would consider myself NOT to be Gulliable...Infact I think I go beyond further investigations, when I doubt someone or something...

I think it all comes from being a Jw,and the crap that was brainwashed into my head...As far as the board goes, I tend to give the benifit of the doubt, until I meet them....There are a few that, I take beyond the board and have disussions with them through e-mails, phone private messages or even meet and hang out with...I can usally tell, by the firist couple of interactions that if they sincerer or not....I have a pretty good judgement per say if they are honest or not.....The ones I dont trust, or a bad feeling comes over me, I tend to just put off...

Gullible? Yup...Prawley! But that's until I get a "feeling" bout someone, then everything they say had better be proven. But there's something that I'm curious about Minimus...what makes you ask that? Has something happened to make you question your own gullibility? Just curious is all.
