Hey good job Viv! I have quit and resumed smoking several times over the past few years. Yesterday I quit again, for good this time. It was all I could do to keep on driving past the petrol station last night though, but I made it.
You say that you like the taste of a ciggie after brushing your teeth??!!!! YUCK! For me, it's after dinner or with a beer that the temptation hits hardest. Especially with beer, for me beer and cigs are like peas and carrots. So I won't be drinking for the next few days, not even on New Years.
Another mental strategy I'm using this time is I calculated that I spend somewhere around $50-$55 a month on cigs, which is exactly what it costs to get a cable TV/Internet package from a local cable company. So I am going to be using the ciggy savings to finally ditch my dial-up internet and crappy antenna TV reception for cable. So if the thought of smoking comes up - "Wait, I'm using that money for cable, can't do it" I'll think to myself.
Here's to a smoke free 2004!!!! We can do it!
