  Stories like yours make me smile--to know that in the face of all the pressure to conform to a freeze-dried style of love, you could overcome and do the thing that Jesus really commanded: to love your neighbor as yourself. That is no small matter!!! All that pain you and your friends endured... and God came thru and showed you that the love you knew He taught was not really there in the WT afterall.

  I'm sorry to think that your parents are so cold-hearted. But the story is not over yet. Hearts can yet thaw!

  Your story made me mad just reading it! I don't know if my father would react the same as yours in this situation, but he has been just as cold-hearted in others. You are a good man for following your heart. THAT is what we'll have to answer for one day! You'll have no regrets with that type of action.

  Like Room and bebu mentioned, real Christians demonstrate the love for their neighbor. The JW?s that genuinely do are, I feel, predisposed to do just that in spite of their being a member of the fellowman-hating WTS.

  You will be rewarded in some way for your good deeds. Maybe you already have since your eyes were opened to allow you to escape the cult.

  Wow, now we can give our hard earned money via electronic deposit. How loving of the WTS to make it soooo easy to get our money.

  Too bad the WTS doesn?t have the same mindset in desiring to get our thoughts on matters. They could easily setup an email system to allow us to fire off our questions to them via electronic mail when we send them our electronic deposit.

  Everyday that passes as I have been awakened from the bOrg makes me wish more and more that the WTS is dead wrong about a fiery Hell. The God that I hope exists will have a slowly turning rotisserie over a fiery pit with every mean spirited JW?s name on it.

  My contention has always been the scripture at James 1:27. "The form of worship that is clean and undefiled from the standpoint of our God (not the society) ...to look after orphans and widows in their tribulation." Imagine, they would give counsel to my mother for allowing me to help her while they don't lift a finger, does that remind you of a religious group in Jesus day?

  OFC you did the right thing and YOU will blessed for it.
