First of all Astronomy is not the same as Astrology. I don't pretend to be able to tell the future when I look at the sky! :)
As for who got me interested. Well, I guess it must come from watching the Lunar Landing in 1969. I remember sitting and watching it on when I was small. From then on I always had an interest in Astronomy. Also, there is a long running show on TV here called The Sky at Night, it comes on once a month. I watched it when I was allowed to stay up late.
Here is a url to give you some idea of what I intend to make. I won't make the mirror myself (if you need more info about that I can provide it:) but the 'mount' and the 'tube' I will.
Oh I forgot to mention that I used to love horse riding too but I have not done it for some years.
so WHAT ?

I used to be into playing guitar, I got to where I could play quite a bit of Satriani and Stevie Ray Vaughan note-for-note. But alas, I've let that slide.
I also used to juggle, I got to where I could juggle 3 in my sleep, and I worked and worked at 4 but never was able to do it. So I've let that slide also.
Dang, I need a hobby. I feel that the greatest satisfaction comes from really mastering a certain skill, something that I've never been able to do.

I do to ... even if I'm realy still scared of them ... Got a weird experience with a horse (real sneaky horse) named "CROQUIGNOLE" THE BEaST (I still love him - cause it was just a : it's you or me kind of game) he was used to walking his head always sniffing the ground on purpose of course so it was like I have to ride pulling all the time but taking care in knowing that at any time he will put his head up and get speed all of the sudden ! a real freak !

My moment of bliss each morning ... was to wake up, make coffee, get behind my computer with crossed legs (lotus-style) and smoke three perfect ciggies, while sipping a great coffee.
I do this everyday...only I alternate between coffee and pepsi...

Like my husband always says, I'm passionate about whatever hobby can hold my interest longer than 2 hours... hehehe. I have the attention span of a flea, so I have lots I switch back and forth to: art, photography, playing music, reading, riding horses, and construction (yes, construction on the house). I also like spending a lot of time with my parrots. I also love foreign films and documentaries, so if there's a good one on television that I haven't seen before, I definitely spend time doing that. Big history fan, so a lot of reading about history.

Solving a problem. I do high-end remodeling and there are few hard and fast rules to go by. Sometime the customers what a certain look or feel for a room and I will study and rack by brain to come up with the answer. And I always do! It scares me sometimes but I love it. To find a solution that looks good and is not costly is a great thrill for me. It is a form of art. And when the inspiration hits, you can't walk away from it. I have gone to bed all frustrated about something I can't figure out only to wake up in the middle of the night with the answer clear as day in my mind. Then I sleep the sleep of the just...totally at peace. In the morning I can hardly wait to get to it and see it done.
I get depressed if I have no projects to ponder over! I love what I do! Maverick
