Thank you for the crown Blondie !! LOL-yeah- next week that will be the next step. You and Irrev will be in the stands with me in my mind on Sunday- Cheer loudly at home !!!
Sassy- thanks for the cheering. So sorry about your Vikes -it had to be one of us and I'm glad it was us. We earned it those last two games !! Heaven and I will be waving !!
Thanks Aztec but I'll pass- I don't wish to trade one pain for another. Working on having none at all.
Yeah, none is better than any but I'm trying to distract you. Quick! Stub your toe! Just kidding!
~Aztec
Yikes sounds painful. Wishing you a Happier New Year and more drugs.
X.
XW Just the term root canal, makes me break out in a cold sweat. Of course my work was done in a semi-rural clinic, I dubbed the "House of Pain" beside a KH !
I'll be watching out for you on Sunday. Ought to be interesting to see Mike H back in Green Bay, only this time for a playoff game. Go Cheeseheads !
Xena, I think that on this moment you'r no longer in pain and you won't feel that peticular molar again .
Just three week ago, I broke 2 molars. Was afraid to go to the dentist - and sure that I needed a new crown, but no: he could fix the first one and pulled out the last was a wisdom-tooth.
yikes - my jaw still feels strange... but it did'nt hurt and I did'nt need pain killers afterwards.
Have a great 2004 - with a big S M I L E
having a new crown....
(((((((((Xandria)))))))))))(((((((((xjw))))))))))(((((((((((Country Woman)))))))) THANK YOU !!!
xjw- yeah !! Go Pack !!
Right now I'm so angry I could spit! This damn tooth!! There is something not right and it's causing excruciating pain. The last time this happened it was that they did the root canal and there was infection there and needed antibiotics. I can tell that there is pressure in the tooth and it feels like it's going to explode. Actually I wish it would !!
So..... after little sleep last night I called my dentist. The endodontist who did the RC left town the following day and isn't reachable. So I explained what was going on and asked the recept. to talk to the dr. and see if he could prescribe an antibiotic and some pain pills. She called me back and said that the dr. had phoned in the script for the antibiotic but no pain meds- I should just double up on what I'm already doing. I explained to her that it was only 9:30 am and I had already taken 800 mg of ibuprofen and it didn't touch the pain. He wouldn't prescribe anything.
I am LIVID. WTH is that all about? It's not like he didn't know I had a root canal 2 days earlier and the guy has been my dentist for 17 years !! So it wasn't that I just had a toothache out of nowhere that he couldn't really verify and I was asking for drugs for god's sake !! If he were in as much pain as I am -he'd certainly medicate himself !!
What is it about the medical profession that they refuse to manage pain at all much less effectively manage it? What am I going to do with a prescription for pain medication- sell it on the streets? Become addicted with one prescription? It makes no sense at all !!
So- what the alternative was for me was to enlist the help of my family and in essence turn one of my family members into a drug trafficker by illegally sharing pain medication that was prescribed for them !! That is the answer? I AM PISSED !! Can you tell?? LOL
Okay, I'm done bitching. It really doesn't make sense to me at all though and I have to see him in person in 2 weeks for the crown work. I wouldn't even want to be him after the pain he left me in !!
Going to take my drugs now..........GRRRRRRRRRRR
Oh yeah- Happy New Year !! I really do mean that underneath this.
xw
Okay see this is why I don't go to dentists! Grrrrrrrrr
The least he could do is prescribe some serious drugs, vicodin, percodan, you know the fun stuff.
My dear XW,
If the pain persists or they will not help you manage the pain. Go to the ER and have them prescribe the necessary pain meds. Explain your dentist is out of the area and you are feeling much pain from the infection/pressure. It is evident your dentist is a boob! Pain management is a part of healing. One cannot effectively heal, if you cannot properly rest. Get well soon.
X.
Xenawarrior: no nuts, no peanut brittle, no hard candies for you.
Got that!
Good.
I can feel for you, trust me, I'm dentally challenged (lost many teeth, yes, really ).
I hope the emergency root canal did the trick, and that you've got something to help make the pain (toothaches/dental pain which has to be some of the worst) bearable.
Best wishes on the recovery, I don't think it'll take too long.
Just the same, soup and soft foods until things heal.
Take care,
