I have never been a person who especially feels influenced or targeted by "demons". However, I have met some people in my life who absolutely make my skin crawl. As a nurse, I had to spend a month training in a mental hospital as part of my course. There was a man there who made me want to pick up and run screaming from the room every time I saw him. He had the "deadest" eyes I have ever seen on a human being. You know- when you look at them they are blank, vacant, dead. It was like there was nothing human in there. Since then I have met 2 or 3 people in the world who have the same kind of eyes. Absolutely devoid of anything human. What is even creepier is when these people smile. The smile is like a pasted on simile of what they think a smile should look like but the dead eyes combined with the pasted smile is horrific. Have any of you ever come across this type of person in your lives? I am NOT a superstitious person by any stretch of the imagination. Don't believe in ghosts, possession, etc. But I do think that there are some people in this world who are not like the rest of us- it's like something is missing and they have learned how to play the part of a whole human being. I don't know any other way to put it.

Elamona,
There are mental conditions out there which will affect a person's consciousness - its no wonder their eyes look "dead" when their brain isn't registering anything. If you think that's demonic influence, you are assuming that a demon has nothing better to do than live inside a mentally ill person in a nursing home.
About the JWs who posted that stuff, I'm constantly amazed at JW's fixation with evil and demonic things. They accredit these "beings" with so much power, they fear them so much, its clear that they don't have that much faith in Jehovah. As a dub, I was the same, everytime I sensed anything I would think it was a demon and pray for help, but I was always scared that Jehovah might ignore me because I'd done something "wrong". (they're good at telling you how Jehovah will not listen to your prayers if you are spiritually weak).
It is also surprising that they imagine that a thinking supernatural powerful being would want to reside in a 1970's retro lamp. The very beings who JW's think can enter your home via a television screening of The Excorcist also happen to need dodgy 2nd hand items to transport themselves. LOL! As a witch I can say that we don't get hold of an old vase and summon a demon to take up residence in it - and I can't imagine any spirit being desirous of making my furniture its home. Admittedly, objects can hold residual energy, but those who have a smidgen of faith (which JWs apparently do not in this regard) know that a simple prayer over the object or a dunk in some plain old water can suffice to remove old residues (bearing in mind I'm not talking about entities, and I'd only cleanse something this way which I was to use in some form of spiritual ceremony or there would be no point).
You with occult fears, I'd say avoid Athame's and boards with carved pentagrams on them (or the alphabet for that matter, lol) and you'll be fair sure that what you buy won't have ever been used by an occultist in any sort of ritual. (We don't have much call to use old lampshades to raise energy... LOL)

hello, a fellow nurse! I worked for over 10 yrs in Psych and the schizophrenic's do not scare me at all. They do sometimes have that "dead" look in their eyes. Some of it is all the meds. Now the dissociative and boderline's-they scare me. They can turn an other wise quiet unit, with your basic schizophrenic's , into a total nightmare. i'll work with the schizophreic's anyday.

I do not believe in demon possession. I'm sorry if I led you to believe that. I am talking about people who have something that makes us human, "missing". I don't know any other way to put it.

Well, this thread helped me to clear a puzzle up in my own mind about something that happened recently in my own life. My mom had called whining about my sister and her mother-in-law and was given advice by not only sis but me that she needed to let the wrongs go that she has suffered from this woman so she can heal emotionally. Well, she went on for awhile about my sister telling her about owning her own power, and I told her yes, that she did need to do that. She had no idea what it meant, so I offered to send her some books on the subject. I explained fully before I sent them what they were, and even included a nice CD with recordings of hump back whale sounds on it. About 1 1/2 weeks later, I got the stuff back..........seems that she was horrified that I had sent her "demonized" books and my sister told her not to bring them to her house, and if they made mom feel uncomfortable, to return them to me. LOL! Even the CD! But, now I know not to waste my time sending her anything............oh, and I sent her a beautiful wild turkey feather which she accused me to my sister of calling her a turkey and wishing her dead................my mom has always had emotional and mental problems................so, tho I was angry, I also realized she was just whacked again.

I want to expand on something that Sirona wrote. Before doing so, let me state that I don't believe in demons. However, let's suppose that they exist. Now, for the JW's to come up with all kinds of mechanisms as to what they do is another matter. For example, if you were a demon, would you want to live in a smelly old couch? Not me. I would be sitting on the couch watching television. If the person burned the couch to try to get rid of me, would I go away? Hell no, I would move into the brand new, fresh smelling couch. It is all so silly.

I wanted to say another thing. If I was a demon, I would not chose to live in lamps, couchs, or books. After I pestered people all day, I would spend my evening flitting over the Grand Canyon or Niagra Falls. Another thing, why do demons demonize "wordly" people? They are already in Satan's clutches. It seems to me, that they spend all of thier time on JW's. I think that I will start a new class, Time Management For Demons.

If you do not go out in the ministry, nobody else can do it for you. If you do not take in the counsel from the Bible, nobody can do it for you.
I love they way they throw this in there , that now somehow going out to sell magazines is going to help against demons . This is classic mind control .

*LOL* That's a good line Sirona. There was a sister in my congo who had severe mental problems...well she was bed ridden and the elders went to pray over her...eh...they found one of those fish symbol things and blamed it for her mental problems. It couldn't be that she was married to a bastard that ran off w/an elder's hot young daughter and proceeded to knock her up then move away. They claimed she got better when they removed the fish symbol....although neglecting to mention that the introduction of proper medication might have had something to do w/her recovery..
Sincerely,
District Overbeer
