does anyone know the exact number of people recorded as being killed by god in the bible? not those killed by old age or illness or the acts of genocide that aren't given a death toll figure (like the flood), i wondered what the body count was for those acts of genocie that do have a documented death toll, or kill figure (god sent an angel to kill 100,000 etc).
anyone any ideas?

That would be an interesting task, to go throught the bable and dump the figures into a spreadsheet or something. It could be done by a book-to-book method, and grand totaled. If this were to be a serious endeavor, different individuals could take separate sections to do.
I don't know but I can guarantee you it doesn't rate a 1 on the scale of 1-10 when compared to 20th century body count piled up by those (formerly) wonderful godless, atheistic, socialist, communist states. All told it is conservatively estimated that @100,000,000 people were conveniently exterminated for various reasons or no reasons at all by those icons of atheism- Stalin, Mao, Lenin, Hitler, Pol Pot, and other minor tyrants and dictators. But then I guess if you're not killed by God it doesn't really count.
For a person to know that answer, they would have to know exactly how many people lived at the time of the flood. They would have to know how many residents lived inside sodom and gomorrah, they would also have to know how many were in pharoah's army that drowned in the red sea.
As far as god slaughtering those in battle with the israelities, there are figures in the scriptures to get an approximate number.
It's a good question though I have wondered myself. It would be intresting to know if his past executions, exceed the six billion he is soon to destroy minus the christians.

I'm not sure where you are going with this. Nobody is here trying to discount the significance of senseless deaths and atrocities committed by so-called "godless" dictators. It can be argued rather successfully that historically more people have died or been murdered in the name of religion than any other cause. I doubt many people at all were killed or persecuted in the name of Athesim. Collectively, religion is guilty of more deaths than any single cause in the history of the world.
yeah i am not dismissing those killed by men, i am just wondering how many god admits to killing, the difference between men and god being (you do accept that there is a difference right elamona?) is that god claims to have created us, we're his children, blah blah blah, i don't think mao, hitler, stalin or the founding fathers of the us, or any of these other MEN slaughtered their children in droves out of love, did they? they slaughtered those who they chose to for a variety of reasons.
anyway, this is something that's of interest to me, just with a view of seeing what is actually written there, not because i'm on any anti god vendetta.
i actually think the nature of men is a lot like the nature of god, which would be consistant with being created in his image.

Anyway, depending on the number of people killed in the flood, the death toll caused by ole Yahwah in the Bible could be as many as several hundred million innocents, perhaps billions,
Incidentally, most of Yahweh's murders (in the Flood, Sodom & Gomorrah, or conquest stories) are purely fictional. However they did cause much bloodshed in post-biblical times...

I have a question...how many animals have you killed in your life time? Can we have a kill count?
The Israelites were have supposed to wipe out several nations larger than they were.
That could put it well over 10 million just for that.
