..... I was just texted that Justin got insulted so i'm jumping in..... The less he's liked by others is fine by me ... as it's now become a life's ambition for me to stalk him and deviously work my way into the spandex jumpsuit, so the less competition I have the better as it'll be a squeeze......

I agree about Queen LT and Satans little helper; I think for me they just had such an uncredible quality and so much entertainment value, though I think they lost it at times with some of the 8o's stuff- you had to admire them.AC/DC have that too- they're on in Hammersmith at the moment ...i'd have liked to have got there, just heard that they admire the Darkness, as Queen do too.The Darkness have the same musical quality, I really didnt think they'd be that good; but they were really tight and i'm going to have to go again.

I was a HUGE Queen fan. The day Freddie died was such a sad sad day. (I even bought two copies of Barcelona!!!) That is why I dont like the darkness. Queen walked a fine line between tongue-in-cheek pomp and serious rock. The darkness are just a novelty band, who IMHO just dont cut it. Their guitar tones are a ripoff of Brian Mays, but appart from that, there is no similarites between the two.

The best British Rock band out there that can be compared to Queen are a devonshire band called Muse...These guys REALLY ROCK!!!

I'm a Queen fan as well and there is no comparison.

The Darkness are about the silliest band I've seen in a long time. They typify the British obsession with "the next big thing". They will be regarded by some critics as "post-ironic" but in the end will be laughed at as just being self-parodying. It's like Andrew WK a couple of years ago - he was hailed as being the saviour of rock and being very tongue in cheek with his testosto-rock, but in the end he simply silly.
