Not at least as far as intellectual honesty is concerned.
You've just done what Jst2Laws did, recently, and inadvertantly smeared "open-minded believers" with a similar brush as fundamentalists.
No offense taken, btw.

Sorry LT I was understood as doing that. i was commenting upon the approach to Bible analysis, not belief. Hillarystep expressed well the different methodologies used by bible literalists and "disinterested" researchers in her last post on Hooberus' Ark thread. The same applies here.
Belief is what it is. The dishonesty to science and history required to be a Bible literalist is quite another thing.

LOL!!
Hillary is a guy, btw
He was a temp CO.
Peacefulpete: perhaps you missed my last post, but if you do read the article by Hermann Detering from the link I gave there (click on "Articles you can read now", and you'll find it) I'd be very interested to know your opinion, since you have been into this subject for some time.
Thanks,
Narkissos
oops sorry Hillary.. (or was that sexist)
Narkissos ..Detering posts once in a while at the Jesus Mysteries Discussion Forum at yahoo. The little I know is compelling. More of his stuff is being translated into English by another poster there. If only half of the conclusions he is drawing are true it will mean a dramatic paradigm shift. This radical approach has of course been brushed aside before. Maybe there are now enuf pieces of the puzzle to make a good case. i'm not really able to say more than that.
