"Walking with Ball and Chain"
LMAO!!
It's plain already what the theme of the entire program will be: "Don't walk with them there apostates. Walk with us because we are God, ... er, ... uh, ... follow us because we are the only ones in the whole wide world who are walking side-by-side with God."
Somehow, the closet ("we alone have the truth") mentality of the WTS and JWs reminds me of Mark 9:38-42 (NWT):
John said to him: "Teacher, we saw a certain man expelling demons by the use of your name and we tried to prevent him, because he was not accompanying [walking with] us." But Jesus said: "Do not try to prevent him, for there is no one that will do a powerful work on the basis of my name that will quickly be able to revile me; for he that is not against us is for us. For whoever gives you a cup of water to drink on the ground that you belong to Christ, I truly tell you, he will by no means lose his reward. But whoever stumbles one of these little ones that believe, it would be finer for him if a millstone such as is turned by an ass were put around his neck and he were actually pitched into the sea.
DAY ONE - Prevent Those Not Using the Name "Jehovah's Witnesses"
DAY TWO - Shun and Revile Those Not Walking With Us
DAY THREE - Don't Give Even a Cup of Water to Others Who Say They Belong to Christ
DAY FOUR - The Society Will Lighten the Millstone Around Your Neck and Rescue You

MY 2004 district convention theme is........
Woohooo - I'm not there!
Actually - I look forward to the conventions. We have a large convention center that is used for assemblies all summer long. And since lunch is no longer served "on-site" - most JW's wander off to the local restaurants.....where I take MY lunch and always find them most willing to strike up a conversation about their name tag......which leads to even more fun when I ask those "tough" questions......
I bet I can get in quite a few "service hours" this summer
Re: 2004 district convention theme is...
Yawn Same sh** different year
Dismembered
Cool Blondie! I remember the 1981 "Kingdom Loyalty" District Convention very well.
I was just a little kid but I was in the drama called Beware of Rebellious Talk (Fourth day of the convention). I was one of the people who chose to stick with Jehover while everyone else was swallowed up by a hole in the earth during an earth quake.
Oops!
Notable conventions for me, that is the ones I remember. Who was at the same venue?
1969 "Peace on Earth" International Assembly - Wembley Stadium, London (aged 9)

Most of the 80s and 90s either Wolverhampton, Coventry and once Birmingham. And at least once in there is Cardiff, Wales as well.
Does anyone have the info on what assemblies are where in the US for 2004.. I'd like it for info purposes only.. pm me if you do and what state I am interested in..
Sassy... that info is generally in the February 15 Watchtower of each year.
And since lunch is no longer served "on-site" - most JW's wander off to the local restaurants
But you must realize, Dawn, that they are already Weak(tm) if they do that, since they are not following the theocratic direction to bring a bagged lunch...
