    Another topic brought this up.

My dad slugged a guy who beat up his own wife, my dad's childhood friend, during the intermission right after the public talk. Which my dad gave, he was guest speaker. Kicked his ass good.

My best friend socked another "brother" at an assembly because he threatened my friend about talking to a girl. So my friend kicked his ass in the assembly parking lot, slammed his head in the car door. Mind you, My friend was about 6'2" 130 lbs. and was recovering from an illness that temporarily parylized him & could still barely walk, the guy who threatened him was like 6'5" 240, So the Big Guy, naturally did'nt mention how he got his face all beat up.. Later that day, I had to threaten another a-hole MS. Any similar stories?

    Avishai,

No similar stories here. From a very young age I thought violence was the weakest demonstration of power/confidence. Not that I thought my viewpoint was necessarily any better...... I was guilty of arrogantly condemning violent people. HOWEVER, I do think we should be as civil as possible at all times.

Sounds like anger was rampant in your family/network of friends. How are you dealing with that yourself now?

I've heard stories about brothers settling issues with fistfights outside the Hall in some other countries - like Ireland.

In my old hall a sister once slapped an elder across the face after the meeting ! Made for one of the more memorable trips to the hall

My wife, a week before our wedding, slapped a Ministerial Servant across the face in the Kingdom Hall before a Sunday meeting, leaving a beautiful red palm print on his cheek that took a long time to fade. When asked why she did it, she said he was "talking stupidly".

My little brother had some "anger management" issues as a kid and beat up many kids outside the hall, in the hall, and at every congregation get together. His crowning achievment was when my mother took us on a bus tour to bethel and the incessant kingdom melody singing got to him and he just started wailing on the kid next to him. It took a couple guys and my mom to haul him off the kid. Of course they spanked him, that'll teach him not to be violent.

    He is 1/4 Irish, hmmm......

I'm surprised by the stories up to now. Interesting thread. I always thought that brothers and sisters wouldn't go further than just verbal arguements.

Never experienced the fist fight thing, although I did get into it verbally with a few pioneer sisters. They were so horrible, usually I was reduced to tears!

Lol, I never saw any of this in my short stint at the witchtower concentration camp :(

It would have been a damn sight more entertaining than those dramas :)
