One time after doing my presentation through the door the hispanioc woman on the other side said "not interesting" and I said "I know your not interesting, how about buying these magazines from me though."

I think this was a wasted answer as she probably heard you said: "I know your not interested, how about buying..." and thought "what a persistant beggar!" in her mind.

Maybe she was trying to tell you the magazines were not interesting, or that you were not interesting.

I would tell them that I realized they most likely would not be interested. But we meet all kinds of people and some really are. Then I would go into how it is not an easy thing to go to strangers and talk about religion and the Bible. Then state that we meet all kinds of people and it is very interesting! They would usually agree with me. They never thought about how hard it would be to go door to door. Once I had common ground I told them that I work for a living and volunteer some of my free time to seek out those who have questions and want answers!

In the end it wasn't the door to door that I had a problem with, it was the phony crap the people I was with that I could not deal with. How could a loving God tolerate this soap opera type crap? Maverick

He doesn't. He told his people (through the organization) to quit watching soap operas 20 years ago!

But seriously you're right....Soap operas are filled with treachery and judgmentalism, from what I've seen of them. So are Kingdom Halls.

I'm just not interested in the drama any more.

. The dub however, gets the satisfaction of being the faithful messenger who has left the seeds from Jehovah. He has performed his duty. If the dub saw the person who just turned down his presentation with a flat tire a half hour later.........they would probly drive by smiling thinking...."serves you right, you jerk"!

I was on my way the moment they indicated they weren't interested.

It depended on my mood. If I was feeling "spiritual" and in a good mood.......I'd talk their ear off if I could. Other days......I just did the "have a nice day" thingy.

I'm embarrassed that I tried to "overcome that objection/viewpoint" myself. I usually asked if was the Bbile, religion or Jehovah's witnesses that was the basis of their answer. I had many responses.

One woman told me she had been raised born again and was turned off all Christian religions. I asked her if she had found a non-Christian religion that met her spiritual needsl. We had an hour talk about Wicca and it was an education for me that witches don't ride brooms but had a worldview that I could learn frojm.

One man told me that he had been raised Catholic and had attended Catholic schools all through college (17 years worth) and he was taking a 17 year vacation from all religion. I showed where Jesus was not interested in religion--Pharisees,etc., encouraging to read the Gospels.

One couple told me about the hypocrisies of their JW relatives (who I knew of) but they still believed in God and read the Bible at home as a family.

Each one of these people let me return and talk with them again. Why, because I never offered the literature and I was more interested in what I could learn from them. I was not a good JW in this way. Many times I was told to drop certain people because "they weren't progressing towards becoming a witness."

Well, long story, from the cold, snowy climes of Ontario where Irrevernt and I met Mouthy, Frank, lollydawdle another couple. We were late to dinner being held up in Michigan by a multi-car accident (at least 10 cars), not us though. I read my book on stress. We stayed up till midnight talking and will be having brunch at a local German restaurant and hopefully be meeting some more. The weather may interfere

I'm not interested...it must seem strange to have a complete stranger drop by unannounced at your home. If Jesus called at your home, what would he say and do to convince you he was the Christ...then I would read an appropriate scripture...It worked...the secret, never offer literature

IF you know how to fish ,you also know debate .Many tactics to get people to talk at thedoor. Sure they can slam the door without a converstaion but theyve been defeated by doing that showing that they cannot confront jws in an argument . Never enjoyed any challenges at all excep with some jews. No one ever produced any evidence againsg my jw teachings..Never saw the stuff the internet has no one ver gave me those argumenst . Most people at the door cannot handle jws. Ive debated with mormons and othe xtians and just cut them to pieces with my jw bible knowlwge .I find that most people just cant think staright and get angry at you when you show them wrong.

IM ready for them when they open the door. I see the facial expression and can presict what their going going to say and have a anti coverstaion stopper already prepared for them as the rs book shows us to do.

I would ask, Why arent you intersted in God Id I noticed they were actholic or rligious?

I would ask How long have you fet this way with a mocking sarcastic facial expression If I percived the person seemed agresively disposed.

One person told me that he was going to punch me, I told him that he owuld go to jail for a long time , I would own his his house and he may not be resuurected b. Jw preaching is protectedd by law. I told him to calm doen that I would see him in court and he could explain his feelings to the cops as I filed a complaint against him. He aplogized and took the mags and gave me a nice donation. Never mentioned this as an experince to the bros.
