I wouldn't advise keeping one as a pet. They are cantankerous and unpredictable and, being bigger than a grizzly, can do a lot of damage in short order. I spent a lot of time in Alaska, and know of more than one car that ended up little more than tin cans!
I remember as a kid, growing up in eastern Canada (Atlantic region), and it wasn't uncommon to see moose walking around near us while we waited for the bus.
The only time things got a bit crazy was the fall during the 'rut season'. The males could get a bit aggressive. With a full rack of antlers, especially on a moose, you knew not to tease or get too close to them.
But yeah, that photo was cute. I wonder if the cat batted the moose on the nose?
**PS: To add. Yeah, Walter...when I did eat 'meat', I have to admit, begrudgingly, that moose meat was probably the nicest I ever ate. Now go put that gun away, and go buy a hamburger.
WOW! I saw the Moose and my mouth started watering. yummy yummy yumm yumm.
Then I saw the cat and my heart stoped for a second. Is that your cat Scully? OMG. I used to have a yellow lab that would mother baby chicks and turkeys. He was also sort of a surogate uncle when my cat had kittens.
Moose: hmmm this Chinese food seems a little too fresh!
Oh, and for those of you who were wondering: NO, this is NOT my cat; and NO I do NOT have a pet moose in my back yard. We do, however, have about that much snow on the ground.
