Sometimes we all need a little validation, you know? I hear that celebrities get something called Imposter Complex where they feel suddenly like a fraud and they fear everyone will find out they are nothing special:ordinary. And even those of us who are nothing special feel this kind of feeling at times. That's when we'll ask someone to tell us how we are perceived so we can come back to earth and stand on the ground again. Some people find it embarrassing to admit they feel this way. So they disguise it by a "Farewell" post. Not all farewell posts are validation seeking posts though. Some people really think they will leave and get talked into staying.

What gets me about the im leaving posts is when they make multipule replies back to their own post. If ya gonna go then go. We'll throw the pity party without ya. If i ever decide to leave I would just PM my friends here and tell them that i am done with this site. I don't need the feel of one last big bang before i go out. I am man enough just to move on.

You know what the pisser is Stacey? That you can fade away for quite some time and many will not even notice. It takes awhile for people to say.....what happened to so and so....if they ever do?

Not being noticed here is no barometer for others peoples concern and care however. This forum grows and moves so fast it's hard to keep up.

The only reason I stick around is because playin hard to get doesn't work here I like giving people the silent treatment ....and dammit.....people here don't fall for it,....they just forget about ya

I figure the only way to get back at all these unappreciative posters is to stick around here and call them bastards all day long

I think it's cool for people to post when they are leaving. Whether it be that they are really leaving or just need people to make it known they're still wanted and needed here, it's cool. It's all cool.

You've made me laugh a few times with your matter of fact, shoot from the hip wit. You know how to state things in a clever way. I suspect you don't even to have to think about your replies, I bet it's just comes naturally.

Well at least it would be honest. Yet, from experience, the same people would always say, "yes stay", while the majority would just over look the drama and post nothing. So either way, your responses will not be a vailid representation of the over all boards feeling. Just a small vocal minority speaking again and again to the same threads.
