Could it be that the 'infancy thomas' is just what many scholars and theologians have said it is all along, A total fabrication? After all, it did not make the cut into the Muratorian fragment.

I do not believe that Infancy Thomas has any genuine reminiscenes of Jesus' life, I hope that was clear. It is however interesting to examine how it was composed and how the author used his sources to construct his narratives, how he took a parable and fleshed it out into a miracle narrative, or how he took a miracle narrative and used it to create a new miracle narrative. Infancy Thomas also uses OT exegetical traditions in a similar way to the canonical gospels. It is thus an important witness to the literary process involved in the composition of narratives.
