Ya know.....when I was becoming a good little dubby back in the mid 1970s, these guys were well on their way to stardom.

Honestly, I liked them, even then. But I seldom listened to them while I was a full fledged brain dead Witless.

KISS: Knights In Satans Service - and all sorts of madness related to their acronym.

In 1977, I remember just as I started attending meetings, there was an assembly in Moncton, New Brunswick, Canada. The night before the assembly, KISS performed there. I remember that.

My brother just 2 years younger than I, had KISS records, and when no one was around: guess who was spinning: STRUTTER??

    Yup, ME!

Monday night, I decided to go and buy some KISS records/CDs, and man oh man, this earlier stuff that wasn't as well known, really and truly rox!

I love the song: STRUTTER. Whew!

Anyone ever seen them, and/or have a favourite song to share?

Oh yeah! I saw 'em. They were the coolest and if you'd ever say one bad word about them around a Kiss fanatic, they would do you bodily harm! My fav song is LOVE GUN! I'm ashamed to say I sold my Ace Frehley pick on Ebay awhile back (but I got $40 for it!)

    Ah yes, Ace Frehley.

I remember back in 1978/79 when each member of KISS put out their own record.

I remember Ace Frehley's song on the radio: "Back In The New York Groove"

    Great stuff!

    LOVIN' IT!

I saw them in 1975! No one even knew who they were! Would you believe they were opening act for the Raspberries??? I didn't even know who the Raspberries were.. I only knew that the boy I had a crush on in the congregation invited me to the concert.. (well me and my brother)..

but then when we got there he ig'd me when he saw other kids (worldly) there.. It was the days of festival seating and if ever I wanted to say "f" this.. that was the first day.. I got so pissed at him that I saw my best 'worldly wild' girlfriend from a distance and ditched him (he worried the whole concert what had happened ot me.. lol)

any way.. the Raspberrries got so sick that they weren't even going to play but none of us knew. So here I sold my folks on this mellow band while my dad kept saying rock concerts were evil and only bad things happened at them.. and if he had known that instead of a mellow band there I was dead center on the floor right in front of the stage (festival seating days) of K I S S. In 1975 they already knew where they were going. None of us knew who they were when they took the stage but none of us ever forgotten their name from that moment on. The outfits/ the painted faces/ everything was there.. even the spitting out of blood (fake)..what a Rush that was.. (oh.. that was another concert I attended)

ps.. when my brother attends their concerts in recent years he and his friends all get dressed and painted up just like the band.. it's awesome..

I'm sorry Ray but, I was truly traumatized by KISS. My uncle had a poster of them in his room and I was terrified of it. Yes, it was the stupid belief that KISS stood for Knights In Satans Service. I didn't listen to any of their music until recently. Of course my favorite is Detroit Rock City.

Yeah, I saw KISS back in 1997. The show was on for 2 days and both of them were sold out. I was lucky to see the first show. They were truly amazing.

As for favorites, I'll have to vote for the "Dressed To Kill" album. There isn't a bad song on there!

    Ray,

KISS was unique for sure but Gene really creeped me out! The lipstick smudged cult fave New York Dolls I found to be more interesting...both before my time. I've added a few of both band's LP's to my vinyl collection.
