so this is just so nauseating to me when she noddes her head in agreement and in a low voice or sound does a "mmm uh" in agrrement.

but here is the deal, she never aswers at the meetings. she doesn't go out in service often. she doesn't study the bible. only the watchtower trash. she doesn't have reasoning ability. this action is just annoying has all F%&k.

    why does she do this.

    1. to show the elders and everyone around her that she agree's with whats being said?

2.to show me she agree's with what being said?

for those of you that did this when you were in. help me understand, why?

Maybe she's just nods her head a lot? I know I do the same thing and don't even realize I'm doing it. I certainly wasn't doing it for attention, in fact when I would catch myself I got embarrassed :)

Does she do this when you watch a documentary? Or if some-one is telling her a piece of news?

It may just be one of her funny little quirks, (habit) or because its what is expected of her. Does she know she's doing it? I didn't think you went to the meetings any more.

JWism is all about appearances. She must appear in agreement.

My take is that she believes every "truth" she nods to and is doing it to influence you. It's her form of argument since, as you indicate, she has little reasoning capacity and probably loses every argument with you. If so, cherish the thought that this is probably her only way to counter your apostasy while affirming her convictions.

It might just be a regional thing. I've been in congregations in the south where JWs did the whole "Hallelujah" and "praise the Lord" bit during the public talk like you'd normally hear in a Southern Baptist church. Took me by surprise at first.

    Ask her.

We can all speculate until the cows come home without finding out the answer. Try to find a way to do it that doesn't get into the whole TATT argument. Just find out why she does it in a non-confrontational way.

I used to nod in agreement all the time. I was a true believer and used to participate all the time. Always in FS had plenty of studies. So I used to nod in agreement.

When I woke up and still attended meetings I had very different facial expressions when I didn't agree. I didn't agree a lot and soon left.

Sabin: i have to go on occasion...if you read my previous posts. i don't go because i want to...i go to the meeting for 2 reasons.

    1. to try and keep the peace with my wife.

    2. protect my children, whom are made to go by my wife. from preditors in the hall.

but, i truely hate going....i so disgusting to go.
