I used to like the following part of a song by Deana Carter that I thought explains love quite well.. I only quote in part:
That's How You Know It's LoveIf you get out in the drivin' rain
Stand in the eye of the hurricane
And never think twiceIf you turn your back on selfishness
Cause your thoughts are for someone else
Cause they've changed your life
That's how you know it's love
That's how you know it's meant to be
When the span of forever
Just never seems long enough
That's how you know it's loveWhen you heart insists that you give it all
When you no longer fear the fall
And you just let go
When the past is finally dead and gone
Fate leads you somewhere to the one
That has your soul
....
How do I know it is love? I have loved men before but honestly I think for the first time I feel love back. Sure I had men tell me they love me, but their actions showed me they really loved themselves. Right now I am in a relationship where I matter to him by his actions. Even last night I went to go to bed early because I am not feeling well, I have a sinus infection and am miserable. He laid there with me and just lightly ran his finger up and down my face from the tip of my nose to my forhead while I shut my eyes and tried to relax my face so I could let go of the tension and fall asleep. No one has ever done something like that for me. That loving care is worth more to me than any extravagent gift.. to me.. that is love..
My definition: When two people have total respect for each other's feelings, thoughts, and dreams.
Love is...when your husband gets the kids ready for school and lets you sleep in because you had a restless night.
mpatrick.. yes.. that is definately love!
LOVE IS: A fully stocked beer fridge and 35 cm of snow outside!!
Sargon.. but that can be love of self...
NOW true love would be when you are so thirsty you would die for that LAST beer left in the Fridge...
and you give it to the one you love...
it's a single by howard jones
Sassy,
Love of self is just part of being made in Jehovah's image. And i always give my last beer to the one I love most.
Love is watching Pirates of the Caribbean with Johnny Depp.
