Would YOU Have REALLY Died For Your Brother or Sister???

There's only one person on this Earth that I would die for, and that would be my son. I've lived through TWO bouts of "take a blood trasnfusion or die" drama with two of my JW family members, and I've had about enough. Thank you very much. Luckily, the first lived and was able to carry on, healthfully, to this day. The other lives under a cloud of 3 times per week, four hours each session, dialysis, because of his refusal to take a blood transfusion. He has a disease that killed his kidneys, that was most likely brought on by stress: one of those diseases that only with extreme stress on the body kicks in. In fact, he is the ONLY one with this disease that the hospital in this relatively large city has ever seen in all its history. That tells you something. Because he wouldn't take a blood transfusion, the doctor would not/could not go in and really evaluate the condition, so he's stuck with dead kidneys for the rest of his life, and asking that his "worldly" brothers and sister supply a kidney for him. Bad news is that this disease will kill off THEIR kidneys that they give him as fast at is did his own, because he refuses to transfuse blood.
He is stuck in a world of delusion. Funny thing: NOT ONE of of the people on his Kingdom Hall stepped forward to test for him to get on eof their kidneys, but *all* of his brothers and sisters stepped forward to offer him a kidney, despite that it's WORSE for the people donating than the people receiving. HIs own FATHER, despite his old age, and derelict health, offered a kidney. Unfortunately, this disease has made most of this moot, since his health is so bad that he can't go through the operation. He keeps living in this delusional world where he is going to get a kidney and live happily ever after, despite his refusal in the beginning to use a blood transfusion and save his own kidneys. My husband just said "No. If he did everything he could to save his kidneys, then that would be different. He did not, and so he just wants to TAKE your kidney and abuse it as much as he did his own. You are not going to give up anything more for this religon" He had a point. Both my non-JW brothers and my non-JW sister offered, but the doctors have told us no. He keeps living in this world that he can get a kidney and he'll be just fine, but he still wants to have the same religoius stance about transfusing blood, and just waste his donor kidney. It's very frustrating...
Yes, I would die for someone, but it's not people that waste it. It's my son. I bet almost every mother feels that way.

"Bad news is that this disease will kill off THEIR kidneys that they give him as fast at is did his own, because he refuses to transfuse blood..."
Hi
A weird world, where blood-transfusion get refused, but transfusion of kidneys get NOT refused. I cannot understand this policy. Blood is an organ consisting of cells and proteins, same as a kidney or a liver. Presently is no absolute virus-elimination possible. One can receive HIV or hepatitis C in both cases. Think the WTS should consider this fact intensively.

Actually the Apostle PAUL answered your Question, he said " NO ONE will die for a rightous man, maybe for a good man someone dares to die"
When Jesus spoke those words, he said "No greater Love does a man have then to die for his freinds" and many in the WTS boast about the Love they have, and how they will die for their brothers. I have found this to be BULL. Its just another way of them boasting about themselves, they won't help you when your alive.

Would I have did for my sister? She'd better be gorgous and very cute. And while I was dying in her arms, she'd better hold me close to her bossom, and stroke my face, until I saw the lights of heaven flash in front of me.

This was a question that I had from the time that I was little. You hear all these "amazing" experiences at assemblies or the hall , and the answer was always the same. No way!! What makes their life more important or more valuable than mine? I felt guilty for my reaction and never told anyone but it was always how I felt. Now that I'm out I look back and think, " Boy, I'd feel really stupid NOW if I had given my life for one of THOSE people."

Interesting question. My faith requires that if I am true to my beliefs I will give my life for the least of my fellow men (includes women). I've never had that part of my faith tested, but at least hypothetically I aspire to that level of self-abnegation.

When I was in, less than a handful would I have willingly steped up for. Now that we are all out of the lie, I would still step forward. I feel I owe them that much, as one of them got me outof the lie. But most of that is all moot. Love is the reason.
