I guess "non-governmental" says it all. WTS's intention has never been to partisipate in making politics in the UN. The purposes for WTS to use the UN's library or other facilities has been to promote the spreading of the Bible thuth by being aware whats going on in the world.
"non-government" simply means that the WTS is not a government. They are an "organization" and not a government. (NGO) Regarding the library card... that excuse stinks to high heaven. If a JW were to join the YMCA to use their athletic equipment they would be DFed.
There is also the odd little thing about how quickly the WTS immediately dropped its membership after being exposed. If there was nothing wrong with it, then why did they drop the membership so quickly? They then changed their story as to why they were a member twice.
God himself is about to use the UN to destroy false religion, so why wouldn't WTS use it somehow to make God's word known?
It astonishes me that you are able to make a statement like that and keep a straight face. Cognitive dissidence at its best! Since the UN is now such a good thing and a tool of Jehover, I guess all future Watchtower references to it will be in a good light instead of constantly condemning it as a satanic Beast from Revelations. I guess it is now no longer the "unclean thing... not to be touched"... now it is a tool of Jehover!!!
As WTS announced, they cancelled that so called "NGO" deal after the UN had made big changes into it, making it look like an oblication to stand behind all goals of the UN, including political. That is a blatant lie. Call or write to the UN yourself... they will provide you with documentation that proves that the requirements have not changed since the WTS signed up. You can also call or write to the WTS and they won't give you crap because they know that if they send you copies of the documents they signed it would show this. If anything they will call the elders in your congregation and have them pay you a little visit... and not a nice one.
