Megadude, agreed it may not be a masterpiece but it was such a refreshing difference for mainstream hollywood! I loved it! But I absolutely loved her first movie, The Virgin Suicides, so I was probably bound to like Lost in Translation. And like DIM, I'm also a Wes Anderson fan, so I love Bill Murray's acting in these types of flicks!

I read one of the reviews, but to be honest, I couldn't figure out what the hell the movie is about.

Whoever wrote it had their head so far up their ass that reading the review was like trying to figure out what the hell a Calvin Klein commercial was about.

All I can figure is that whoever made the movie was a fan of The Razor's Edge if they put Bill Murray into a serious artsy movie.

The best film I've seen so far this year is "Fog of War."

I agree with the comments that it wasn't a story about sex. Anyone looking for that has missed the point, IMHO. It's a bit more subtle that that

Thanks sphere for answering my question your reply has created another problem..now thats the only scene I'll be thinking about.

SHOTGUN, your ultra conservative wife would probably like the movie except for one brief scene in a strip club with girls in g-strings doing backbends etc. to music that is loud and graphic.

    Hi Little Toe,

Thanks for the recommendation. I've been wanting to see a movie for a while--so I think this will be the one.

    Hi Dim,

Thanks for those other two recommendations that I haven't yet seen either. I'll put them on my list too.

    Cheers!

    Pat

That's why I think Bill Murray may win the Oscar for best actor. The others? Well, Charlize Theron for best actress in the movie "Monster"; Peter Jackson for best director and The Return of the King as best movie. Just my opinion...
