I'll give you a little more background.....This Witness is a little off his rocker. He's kooky. Many JWs know my work number and can easily call me. He's not a nasty person but he's not a person I'd ever trust---based upon my past dealings with him. He' turn YOU in but always protect his family. Plus he's nutty.

I've gotten the "we miss you" phone calls, but they've been from well-meaning friends. Yes, there are some kooky types lurking in dubland, but then again there are kooky types most ever where. The sad thing about the kooky types at the hall, is that they believe that they are in some real brotherhood, loving and being loved by all, while in fact most dubs are laughing at them behind their backs. The kooky types that I knew were avoided as much as possible by "normal"(is there such a thing?) JWs. The WTS will accept their time and money but are ignored in most other ways.

I'd be quite displeased if I had ever gotten a call like that--especially at work. Do you have "caller ID" on your work phone?

We never used to have it here in county government, but because of phone abuse, etc., we are going to be getting it soon here. That way, we will know who's calling, and if it is a totally inappropriate call, we've got their "number", in more ways than one.

Next time one of them calls, act all excited about the timing of their call to you. Tell them how you were just praying that very day, asking Jehovah for a simple sign that he still loved you, and that you asked him to show he still cared by providing badly needed help painting your house. The worst thing that will happen is that they won?t be calling on you again any time soon, and if you are blessed with a nice gullible drone, you just might get your house painted.

They have been "encouraged" to "reach out" to the "weak ones" to "encourage" the "weak one" to "come back" by showing "christian agape love" to "encourage" you and your wife so you will stop worshipping satan and die at "armageddon", LOL!
