The first thing I remember is when we brought back my little sister from the hospital. I was 3.5 years old. My dad was helping was mom into the car and my aunt put my sister in the front seat and me in the back seat. I was trying to scamper over the front seat to look at her, she was beautiful and amazing and new and my little sister. My aunt screamed at me to sit down and it shocked me since I couldn't see what I was doing wrong. Kind of a bittersweet memory actually.
How far back do you remember?

It has been said that the brain is not capable of retaining memories from the first year of life. Nevertheless, I have a clear memory of an event that happened when I was 7 months old: the San Fernando earthquake. The thing is: I don't remember the event directly, what I recall is a series of recurring nightmares about the earthquake that I had throughout my early childhood (last dream was when I was 7). And there are elements to the memory which are definitely imaginary and derive from my nightmares. But there are other elements (especially the appearance of the room, the rattling floor boards, seeing through my crib) which are accurate, and which are probably real memories. For instance, several months after the earthquake the house was carpeted and then we moved from the house when I was 2. Yet I can still recall the rattling wooden floor which indeed was uncarpeted at the time of the earthquake.
Aside from that, I don't have any memories until I was 3. I recall setting the table for dinner around the time I turned 3, I recall going to daycare at the bowling alley, and I most vividly recall Christmas when I was 3 years old.
On edit: My earliest Dub-related memories are twofold. One was going to my first meeting in a very big building that had very rough stucco walls and there was a person in the back in a wheelchair. The second was of my mom reading me the pink Listening to the Great Teacher book and she showed me the picture of Jesus' tomb after the resurrection, and I pointed to the round stone that had been rolled away and asked, "Is that God?"

Gumby:
I remember sitting on the edge of my moms bed watching her get ready to go somewhere. She was standing in front of the mirror doing her womans thing with her lips after putting on lipstick, pushing her boobs up to make sure they looked just right, turning different directions to look at herself to make sure everything looked right. I don't remember anything else about that occation.....only that. I
Well that would explain a lot !

I remember being all bundled up in lots of clothes, my mother pushing me in a stroller and a black dog (cocker spaniel?) ran up and barked at me. I stood up and barked back and the dog ran away. I confirmed this with my mother a few years ago, and she said it happened before I was 2, probably late fall 1947 since my birthday is in December.
I also remember a big snow the winter I was 3. I wanted to go to my friend's house down the street and my mother put my snowsuit on and I tried, but I had to turn around and go home because the walks hadn't been shoveled and the snow was too deep. That was probably in 1948 or 49 and we were in Ohio.

I remember breaking both arms before the age of five. (2 & 4) Fell off a stool the first time and jumped off a couch dressed only in my underwear and a towel for a cape..up up and awaaaaaay.......... thump! I do have fond memories of being 6 or 7 and riding in the basket of my grandfather's bicycle.
Sincerely,

Speaking of bicycles, I remember my mom taking me out on her route where she distributed some little local newspaper. She hit a puddle of water, and down we went. To her surprise I didn't cry, I didn't know what to do.
I also remember going to the grocery and having an old man wink at me, I thought it was the greatest thing.

Twas but a wee tot of one! My first emotion, embarrassment. Lying on the table having my diaper changed with the door open and the school bus stopping to drop of my brothers after school. I was sure the kids on the bus could see me naked..
