You're partially correct, God could have chosen any manner by which to redeem mankind...I think he chose this manner to make it meaningful. And as far as Christ knowing his future, I think ya'll need to get a better grasp of the two natures of Christ and the homostatic union...Jesus was not omnipotent nor omniscient..and he could have chosen to sin...in which case...no salvation.

Jesus has to have been free to sin, even though he is God...or temptation wasn't temptation, and obedience to the cross was meaningless.

Jesus was not self aware of a continuing conscience from the beginning...he had infused knowledge, but not infused memory.

So, tell me: What if Jesus DID sin. Let's say he and Mary Magdalene rolled in the hay. What would the Big Guy in the sky do next? Zap Jesus? Take away his heavenship privileges? Let him grow old like Adam?

Also, would that be it for humans? Was it a one-shot deal?

Wasn't there a flood that basically accomplished nothing? Things are still bad before the flood and after. What did Moses accomplish? Go ahead and get my people out of Egypt, it will be better in the Promised Land. So they get stuck in a stinky desert. And finally after entering, there are still wars between nations and many suffer. Mission: Failed. Ok let's wait and send some judges and prophets. Nothing changes. Mission: Failed

Ok one more attempt. Send some one a little more poweful. Jesus. He will make things better. And here we are still in the same mess as was started, by the first couple. So why do we have to suffer, because some idiotic pair way back when, messed up? Why for all these thousands of years? And now we are gonna go to some paradise place? What has history proven after all these attempts? Ya think it's gonna be alright?

If you're going to redeem. Do it right and do it now !!!!

This is supposed to be a spiritual warefare. Knock, knock, hello we are physical beings. Say that Satan 'is' responsible for all this in the long run, then why take it out on humans? Shoot this bastard in the ass and zap him into oblivion. Don't send this clown to the earth so we as humans can suffer just a little bit more than history has already experienced. Because it changed who THEY were, and therefore, who we are. That's the short answer, however, since I believe man has been around a LONG time before Adam and Eve, the issue is this, because of their sin all humanity has become predisposed toward sin. It's like this, there may only be Dad who's the alcoholic in the family, but everyone in the family is adversely affected.
