    WATER

      1. 75% of Americans are chronically dehydrated. (Likely applies to half world population.)

      2. In 37% of Americans, the thirst mechanism is so weak that it is often mistaken for hunger.

      3. Even MILD dehydration will slow down one's metabolism as much as 3%.

      4. One glass of water will shut down midnight hunger pangs for almost 100% of the dieters studied in a University of Washington study.

      5. Lack of water, the #1 trigger of daytime fatigue.

    6. Preliminary research indicates that 8-10 glasses of water a day could significantly ease back and joint pain for up to 80% of sufferers.

    7. A mere 2% drop in body water can trigger fuzzy short-term memory, trouble with basic math, and difficulty focusing on the computer screen or on a printed page.

      8. Drinking 5 glasses of water daily decreases the risk of colon cancer by 45%, plus it can slash the risk of breast cancer by 79%, and one is 50%less likely to develop bladder cancer. Are you drinking the amount of water you should every day?

    COKE

      1. In many states (in the USA) the highway patrol carries two gallons of Coke in the trunk to remove blood from the highway after a car accident.

      2. You can put a T-bone steak in a bowl of coke and it will be gone in two days.

      3. To clean a toilet: Pour a can of Coca-Cola into the toilet bowl and let the "real thing" sit for one hour, then flush clean. The citric acid in Coke removes stains from vitreous china.

      4. To remove rust spots from chrome car bumpers: Rub the bumper with a rumpled-up piece of Reynolds Wrap aluminium foil dipped in Coca-Cola.

    5. To clean corrosion from car battery terminals: Pour a can of Coca-Cola over the terminals to bubble away the corrosion.

      6. To loosen a rusted bolt: Applying a cloth soaked in Coca-Cola to the rusted bolt for several minutes.

      7. To bake a moist ham: Empty a can of Coca-Cola into the baking pan, wrap the ham in aluminium foil, and bake. Thirty minutes before the ham is finished, remove the foil, allowing the drippings to mix with the Coke for a sumptuous brown gravy.

    8. To remove grease from clothes: Empty a can of coke into a load of greasy clothes, add detergent, and run through a regular cycle. The Coca-Cola will help loosen grease stains. It will also clean road haze from your windshield.

    FOR YOUR INFORMATION:

    1. The active ingredient in Coke is phosphoric acid. Its pH is 2.8. It will dissolve a nail in about four days. Phosphoric acid also leaches calcium from bones and is a major contributor to the rising increase in osteoporosis.

    2. To carry Coca-Cola syrup (the concentrate) the commercial truck must use the Hazardous Material place cards reserved for highly corrosive materials.

    3. The distributors of coke have been using it to clean the engines of their trucks for about 20 years!

lmao... I bet this is riddled with untruths. Cops carry coke in their trunk?

Coke can't be anywhere near as strong as stomach acid. Our system can handle it. Otherwise we'd all be dead.

Not to mention the caffine in soda and the aluminum cans cause bone loss.I know a young "healthy " man right now that is having serious problems with his bones...he has already had serveral operations on his legs.

It floors me when so called loving parents give their children soda vending machine credit cards and now they have fast food credit cards for kids.

I think it's substituting water with other stuff that causes problems.

Chinese food is one of the biggest dehydrators of all. I love the stuff but I'm always careful to drink lots of water when I do indulge myself.

Mmm...think I'll have a king prawn curry tonight with fried rice..yumm!

I've heard that milk can cause osteoporosis believe it or not. Osteoperosis isn't nearly the issue in eastern lands as it is here in the US and other countries where people drink loads of milk.

I drink lots of pop, rarely drink straight water, and so far I have never had a broken bone. Knock on wood. hehehe

Well, what do you think is in pop? It's gotta be 99+% water! Yes, many flavors have the diuretic caffeine, but you can compensate by drinking more pop.

Very true, one day a couple of months ago I noticed that I was yawning and stretching quite a bit throughout the day. Somebody suggested that it was dehydration that was causing this, so I've cut my coffee consumption in half and now I drink water steadily through the day, and the problem has vanished.

That makes a lot of sense to me. People in other countries eat far more vegetables than we do in America. Your body cannot absorb the calcium found in milk. ***waiting for the backlash on that*** The molecule is too large and your body will not recognize it, and it can't absorb it. If you like milk, drink it, but don't think your body needs it. Cow's milk is designed for calves and they are hundreds of pounds heavier than a human. The best calcium for us is in green, leafy veggies, but primarily in supplements. By the way, coral calcium is the least absorbable calcium on the market.

As for water................you need lots of it. People who are trying to lose weight need to drink at leat 8-12 glasses a day...................the body rids itself of fat, through elimination systems in the body. It is true that the culprit behind hunger is often really thirst, so when my mother used to tell me to get a glass of water when I was hungry, she was on to something.

    Is that right?

The Health Ministry are widely advertising to encourage Brits to eat a minimum of 5 portions of fuit and/or vegetables every day. http://www.doh.gov.uk/fiveaday/

Currently, the average Brit only eats about 3.

We upped ours to 5 last year and feel much better (and slightly slimmer) than we did before.

    I drink way too much diet pepsi,but I take calcium,for this won't effect me when I'm older.Hopefully.

When I drink pepsi, when I'm thristy,I keep drinking it because it doesn't hydrate my body like it needs.I have to force myself to drink water.

    I'm a popaholic,I need intervention!
