I'll go out on a limb and risk hyperbole: JWD ranks up there with the classic recovery programs, like AA. It's a healing place, as someone already wrote. It's a steady reminder that we are unique in our history, we are not alone, and we are not crazy or wicked, and that there is life after the WT -- good, fulfilling, satisfying life. This site is a living thing, constantly growing and changing, evolving. No one can possibly thank Simon enough for what he started here.

I think it will be known for a place that JWs who leave the WTS and being a JW to come and feel not alone as they deal with their exit issues, make friends with people who "UNDERSTAND" where they are coming from..
a place to laugh.. and sometimes a place to cry...
and always a shoulder if you need one..

When you think of it, a db is only as good as the people that contribute to it. Years ago when h2O was "THE board" every other board was not even close to being in its class. But eventually, the board lost most of its good people, actually it lost almost everyone! I think that for the most part, this board has become known less for its scholarly research and more for its "healing" . I believe many people come here to get help in their suffering and despair because they are or were JWs.
