How would you act and dress.....if you did go to the hall just once?

I did attend one book study at the Kingdom Hall recently, just to have something to do on a family visit and to avoid making waves and ruining the visit for everyone. I made sure I packed my copy of the publication being studied, along with my old copy of the NWT and I packed my nicest meeting dress, but didn't wear the pantihose - extremely unusual for me - but didn't want to be bothered. It was a very long dress anyway.

It was kind of boring, but fun too, to sit there with a COMPLETELY different viewpoint. The brother conducting was such a robotic shell of a human - used all the terminology we've been taught - it was sickening. And to think we used to regard those men as "so spiritual." I just looked up all the scriptures cited but ignored in the study, and that took up all the hour. Tried not to listen to all the canned drivel known as "comments."

Talked to a lot of the people after, mainly because my family were making such a point of introducing me to them. Except for the elders with the ever-present ulterior motives in talking to visitors, the people were nice.

My only slip up was referring to one of the brothers' wives as "the brunette lady in the front row." Oops! I corrected myself and then referred to her as "sister" but it was too late! The elder immediately wanted to know what congregation I was from!

I went to the hall around the corner from me once. I dressed JW-appropriate and went in a wee bit late. I sat near the back but not at the back as I should have. I took notes during the talk and after that I wnet to the washroom.

where I left a some silentlamb business cards that I had made up. I left them in the stalls and stuck a couple on the mirrors before I walked out of the hall

I also went to a DC where I casually dropped silentlamb cards around the arena and parking lot

i usually wear my slacks and shirt w/ my leather coat and walk around and still see how many of the elders think they are better than me and how many people say "i'm glad to see you here" and such...

Robyn - Fabulous photo! You look happy as well as beautiful!

Actually, I am contemplating a trip to the hall during the weekend when they study the article which mentions apostates in their midst -- I believe its the Feb 15 WT second or third article, thus being studied the week of March 29-April 4? I haven't decided what to wear, although I've pretty much discarded all my JW clothing. I will wear something respectable, will only attend the Watchtower study (couldn't possibly sit through TWO hours!), will bring Bible and songbook and if asked why I am there will respond with an ambiguous: "Just checking in to make certain of my decision," with a very wide grin. I will say hello to everyone who makes eye contact with me before, and will, if I'm feeling feisty, raise my hand to comment when the apostate paragraph is read.

I actually wish everyone on this board would make it a point to visit his/her Kingdom Hall on what I feel could become "Apostate Sunday" -- the first Sunday in April: "It's April, you fools! Wake UP!"

    Love,

Well, I'd go out and get the shortest, tightest leather skirt I could...........black......or even red, that would be better! Then, I'd get black fishnet stockings and some of those killer vamp high heels...........I'd get a wig, with longer hair, and tease it wayyyyy up, kinda spikey, maybe add some bright red and purple hair dye highlights.............then, heavy black eye makeup and bright red lips..............oh, and my blouse.........hmmmm, probably a tight body suit, a little see through and then a leather coat over that! I'd make sure my tatoo on my ankle could be seen, and I'd ask my boyfriend to do the "Harley" thing...........and he's got enough tatties on his arms to really fill out the image...................let's see, I guess I'd hope I had the nerve to sit up front, but, I don't think I would......I'd probably end up sitting in the back...........oh, and I'd wear my pagan jewelry that I have...............

I would wear a nice suit, be polite, get sick after five minutes and leave.

I certainly would not cause a disturbance. It's the getting through five minutes that would suck. There is no way that I would ever make a whole talk, never mind a whole meeting. No chance.

    "IF" but never would happen.

I would wear; pants' suit, and sit right in the front! I would leave before the first song and be grinning ear to ear.

I would sing a Kingdom song, just for once, with feeling.
