Funny, that! If I go off my diet, it's more often or not a slice of pizza (or 2-3-4?!!!) that beckons me.

Slow and steady wins the race, Marilyn. You're doing great! Don't beat yourself up but rather rejoice in what you've done.

Do you find the South Beach easy to follow? Seems like it.

I wouldn't worry. The SB diet allows for someone to cheat on occasion. At least the fat in the pizza will slow down digestion so there won't be as many carbs. Just make sure tomorrow you go back to schedule.

Mulan forgot to tell us about the extra toppings...

    Mulan:

As Scully said you probably did your body a favor by switching things up. Just like with excercise you need to do different excercises from time to time to get over a plateau.

You know, I don't really see that as being an issue. Look at it as if you're riding a bicycle, just get back up on it and go on. YOU CAN DO IT!

(By the way, I would have had at least FOUR slices! )

Now, Mulan, what flavor was the pizza topping??!!!!!!

    Just kidding, folks.......aren't I?

Greetings to you and Big Red

Thanks for all the encouragment, everyone. I did get right back on it. I am sure I could kick this into high gear if I would get back to the gym.

    Mmmmmm.... Piiiiiizzaaaaaaa.

Just remember to eat plenty to protein if you are going to be working out... If the body does not have carbs to consume during and after a workout, it will start to convert it's own proteins (muscles) into carbs to satisfy the need.

I was on the Atkins for a while and was very successful in loosing some "nuisance" weight. I was also able to increase my muscle mass... just remember to eat plenty of protein!

    Good luck!

... but wouldn't pizza be okay if you didn't eat the crust? Well, maybe a few alterations: lowfat mozzarella cheese, leaner meats, and permissable vegetables?

P.S. Sorry for the resurrection of your SBD threads, Mulan. Looks like I'm about 7 months late for these SBD discussions! ;-)

MMMmmmmm Pizza. I could go for one right now with anchovies and onions.

Don't worry Mulan. A couple of slices won't mess up the hard work you've done.
