    Hi Joanne

I'd like to welcome you too and thank you for sharing. You've had a painful life, but you've managed to realise at a young age what the org. is all about. And thats a good thing. Now even though it may take some time to deal with the pain, you can move on to better things and maybe eventually your mum too will realise that the org. is not what she thinks it is.

This board is a comfort to know there are others that have gone through similar experiences. I hope you enjoy your stay here.

Hi Joanne and welcome to the board!

I can understand what you're going through. I've been through a lot of that myself...sigh.

Thank you all for your welcome and your support. I am trying desperately to help my mother see the truth behind the org. Once their inside your head, its so hard to get them out!!! So I'm listening for all the suggestions you can give me, and whatever research you've got. (She likes proof) Thanx again.

    Hi Angel,

Thank you for telling me your story. I think that you have been and still are a brave and courageous young lady. I am glad you no longer do drugs, it helps in your growth.

As to your mother, it may be better for her to remain in due to her mental state and what it may do to her to have her belief system shattered.

I do not believe the bible, nor in a personal god, but I do believe that there is much more to know.

I am also thankful that there are people like you and others on this board that I can call my friend. My "borg extraction" was much more recent, and it really does help to speak with friends like you.

    Thank you

    Dave

    Joanne,
I am so very sorry for all the bad experiences you have had. But it sounds like you are on the right track now!!! I can relate to being depressed at times, a natural reaction. But the great thing is you can learn from your experience and be benefited.
I was a JW for almost thirty-eight years and studied with some people who have what sounds like similiar problems to you mother. So I understand how people at the KH don't talk to her. That was something that used to make me really upset. I am glad that at times they have helped your family!! I have to agree with not shattering your mom's belief system. She may just not be able to handle it. You will have to use your own good judgment on that one.
But you can make good choices for yourself. I hope you get all the wonderful things you wish for!!
Welcome to the board!! It is a good place to heal and make new friends.
