Is anyone watching this year? I am stunned by last night's show. They were all just terrible, and couldn't stay on note. It made me wonder if the sound system was keeping them from hearing themselves. It was torture to watch it.
Two of them were not too bad, but the rest were awful.
This girl couldn't sing...last night it was just American Awful!
I know ...............I like that girl too.............and thought all of them were really good singers but something was terribly wrong last night. Their song choices were terrible. It makes me wonder if they choose them or are they given songs.
Yes, me and my GF watched it and I agree- 2 of them were good, one was OK, the rest wee lounge singers.
The best part of AI, IMHO, is the qualifying rounds - too funny!! Gotta love "William Hung', and the others who REALLY believe they can sing!! ROTFLMAO!!!
They can choose, but if they use a song, they have to get permission from the various artists/record company to use them. I think they even have to pay a royalty fee. That's why certain composers were used in the past, like Burt Bachrach. They got to showcase their songs. I think they used the Bee Gees last year..
Last night was awful, though I don't think Matthew was quite as bad as they thought. I like his personality, and would like to seem him continue, and see what else he has. At least he was entertaining.

there was this 19 years old African american girl named (i think) Fantasia.. she was one of the best I have ever heard... and Simon Cowl agreed..
HE said she didn't need American Idol.. she was above that. Interesting coming from him..

Those performers really were awful last night. I am really getting sick of this show but somehow I just can't seem to stop watching it. I think we all know which two will move on tonight.
I am not enjoying this round at all. WOW last night sucked out loud. Mulan, it did seem as if they couldn't hear themselves or something. Even the football player dude sounded really bad
