I remember this sister in our congregation who believed she was of the anointed. She always partook, but no one else dared.

As for the "bread", yeah I've munched a few, but you'll get more taste out of sawdust.

I did the same as a youth -- unfortunately had the same experience. My dad was in charge of the Matzos and Manichewitz for a few years. We took home the left overs a couple of times. The wine was sweet, but the bread was ... bland.

At least one of our old-time posters here partook for several years - Amazing. He posted more than one multi-part discussion on the subject of anointing. The bottom line is, you're anointed if you say you are.

It's worth doing a little work to find those discussions. They are - how do you say? - AMAZING!

Someone in the cong baked the bread for our memorial, so it wasn't too bad. Especially with the help of butter.

No one partook (is that even a word?) in my congregation, but my friends in other halls always had stories about the wingnuts who would partake.

    No...

But one KH I was associated with, after every Memorial, a lot of us would go to a restaurant and wine and dine.

Last year I attended the Memorial for the first time in 20 years. I was the only one in attendance who partook of the matzo and wine. I don't know if they counted me since I am not a JW.

I seem to recall some people partaking; usually quite odd, because the whole freakin' congregation would be staring at said individual, LOL!

A couple of years ago of years ago my very young kids ( 3 & 5 at the time ) were given some of the bread after the meeting! aparently it was just handed round the the little ones. when my husband was an elder he sometimes got to take the wine home. not after we were married though! unfortunatly.

I recently had the thought that this would be an ideal way of disrupting the memorial. If 3 or 4 of us sat in a row we could polish a glass of wine iff and finish the biscuits. It would mean they'd have to restock half way through and it would disturb that wierd holy holy atmosphere that occurs.

We ate the matzos and polished off the bottle after the memorial every year my dad took it. Wasn't very exciting.
