    Blondie,

He really did not say much before or after. We were in his house having dinner after helping him in a field of his. We were all sitting around the TV and he just put it on. When it was over, he did not ask any questions, just let nature take its course. At the time, I was newly re-instated and was honestly favoring the witnesses. I remember saying things like "that lady is definitely going to Gehenna for this one. I mean, slandering the organization? Making up stories about being molested?" So, if it was a test, I definitely passed, I think. Then again, he may have been trying to open our minds, although this is very doubtful as he is a real company man.

Unfortunately, I was a non-doubting JW at the time. Obviously my critical/analytical thinking skills were severely impaired at the time, so I couldn't clearly see a reason for him to do this. Just looking for a little feedback from people with their many points of view.

P.S. The "Dateline special" is the one from about 5/02 regarding child abuse victims.

    New Light,

Maybe it is wishful thinking on my part, but it wouldn't surprise me if he was pulling a "Jim Whitney" (aka: Amazing on JWD). He has a great story he tells about how he got his family out by just "showing" things to them, and then letting them draw their own conclusions. Here are the links to his two-part story:

I might be wrong, but I think it very bold of the CO to do this, especially considering the fact that most congregations (from what I've read) were told NOT to watch it. Showing this to a group of JW's sounds to me like a direct act of "insubordination".

BTW - welcome to the board!
