I can speak for myself on this . If they found intelligent life on another planet it would in no way change my belief in a God . I still don't think they will find anything of signifigance on mars that will be that world shaking . I can't see the prospects of terraforming mars being realistic even . I think the earth is all we have and we better start respecting that or suffer the consequences .

What if life is found on Mars? Perhaps Mankind will stop being so "cocky"? That would be cool!

What if life is found on Mars?
Don't worry, I'm sure it will be promptly commodified and turned into something that makes a profit for huge corporations.

I'm not sure if the WT is so 100 % "no-life"; I seem to remember statements about "if there is, then it is not as advanced as" here etc. And, if someone could help me out, I 1,000 % for sure recall a magazine article from mid or late 70's where it was said about Venus or Mars that they were now in a state similar to the one our Earth had been in millions of years ago. I remember I stopped and thought "What is this? Do they say there will be life on Mars in the future?" I'll try tomake a search on the CD, but any other clever-head will be hugged if he/she remembers too.
Found in WT78 11/15 Insight on the News, " Scientists? inability to answer these two perplexing questions may well lie in a wrong assumption?that the atmospheres of both planets evolved on their own. However, earth?s climate reveals the attention of a loving Creator in specially preparing earth to support life, while he has not, at least until now, developed the atmosphere of Venus to this extent.?Gen. 1:1-31."

How would such a finding affect fundamentalist Christians, and JWs?
For the most part it wouldn't. People of such a mindset aren't usually influenced by evidence. They would go on believing their absurd fairy tales.
