....you know what I mean. I'm talking about one of those people that always was trying to get "in" with the right people.

    no never..

I did for a while end up with some pretty important people but it was only because of my winning personality......

Most people don't ever want to think of themselves in this way but when the circuit overseer would come, you'd see people wanting to be out in service, wanting to work with him, thrilled that he might even remember THEIR name! Oh, how our memories can fail us.

Nope...I was nice to the CO for no reason (except that he was the CO) but otherwise I was nice to many people because I was a kid and actually thought they cared about me.

No, never. I always suffered from the need to exercise reverse discrimination. But seriously, no, I was very uncomfortable around elders, their wives, and especially the C.O. and his wife, unless there was a really special one who didn't believe their own press - like Mary Jo Shen - but rarely even said hello to them, and was uncomfortable when they would come over to me to say hello.

Nope. I find it utterly nauseating that anyone can do that, but we see it all the time............................

Never, I was always not good enough for most witnesses...

cypher50 --liked your reply. Think I must've been a kiss up at times, but I did like some of the JWs who I thought at the time were my friends, so my feelings towards them were genuine. I didn't always think all of the CO's were as wonderful as everyone made them out to be, though I did wear my extra special dress when they came around and so did everyone else for that matter. Think in general we were all a bunch of kiss-ups to one degree or another, but like you I thought we were supposed to have love among ourselves and the Org really cared about us all, but I was very naive then.

No, but my brother in law was the ultimate "kiss-up".

Suddenly, all the elders are getting invites for dinner and so on until ... surprise, surprise - he's made an elder ! (and never was anyone more unsuitable even by their own standards).
