yup, it's scary, and essentially no one you come into contact with every day has a clue or are willing or capable to understand how you feel. but, why quit now? why let this, or them, direct your behavior and life? It's a huge chalenge to go out and really live life after being so indoctrinated, controlled and directed. One feels out of control. But give yourself the chance to find out how exhilirating it is to actually make decisions for yourself and find out they are right, to know that your intuition, 'higher self', or just your gut feelings are the ones that will bring you happiness, contentment and much more. After all, wasn't it your inner self that brought you out of a cult in the first place?

Puter,
Some say that I have a new start, but the question is where do I start.
Anywhere you like, it's up to you now. Read a book, watch a movie, research your feelings and subjects of interest on the internet, anything at all, but do someting to help you focus.
So I don't worry too much about the future and let it happen day by day.
Great, that's the right mindset. You can think about the future as you feel you need to. Live day by day, but by all means plan for tomorrow.
But realistically is scares the hell out of me to have an uncertain future.
All our futures are uncertain. You have to have faith in things. What things? Whatever you decide. It will take time to gel.
Thoughts about were they right, am I wrong?
That's for you to decide. Like most things in life, I'd bet that they were right about some things, wrong about others, just like the rest of us.
Is there a God?
That's something you will have to decide whether you believe in, or not. If you decide there is, there's no way to prove it. If you decide there isn't, there's no way to prove that either. But you will have to have faith in things, whatever things you determine to be worthy of Faith. Remember, it's a journey, not a destination.
You'll have good and bad days, as all of us humans do. I wish you the best in your journey.
Let me know if there's anything I can do to help.
Cheers,
Love_Truth

I can completely understand what it is like to contemplate suicide and I am so sorry that you feel so despondent that the thought has crossed your mind, also. I think you have done the right thing by coming here and asking people to help keep you grounded. This is so easy for me to say because I am not in your shoes, but I KNOW you will get through this. You have so much going for you - you are a very intelligent man who has a very soft and generous heart. You have a great sense of humor, and have proven to yourself that you can set goals and accomplish them. You have friends here who love and care about you, and I know you are making new friends in your area (i.e. Codeblue, et al). Obviously, this is a tough time in your life or you wouldn't be feeling the way you do now, but there are a whole lot of people whose lives you have touched that want to help you get through this. Please continue to grace us with your presence. We need you, too.

Hey Puternut.
Hang in there. After the initial euphoria at learning the truth, I fell into a several-month-long depression as well. I found it almost impossible to work, and I had very little desire to do anything, even eat.
All I can say is that almost imperceptibly, those days became fewer and fewer. I feel like I'm almost entirely back to my old self, with the exception that my mind is now free! I feel for you. Hang in there, just take one day at a time. We're all pulling for you.

Well I am not eating, that's for sure. I only eat one meal a day, and that's only if I have an appaetite. I try to stay busy at work as much as possible to keep my mind off things. But then I work too much as it is. mo-sat 9:00 Am to 9:00 Pm. Maybe I shouldn't do that either, it's really counter productive.

Nobody has a certain or seeable future hon.
Sounds good on paper, but it isnt possible. Palm readers, opinion polls, evangelists, and interpretors of tea leaves will not guarantee your future of lack thereof.
Do you see Cruzanhearts pic of the ship at sea? That is all of us dear. There are no easy instructions to navigate through life, and certainly no universal ones.
Do well, live good, make friends, find a suitable mate who shares your philosophy. This will bring comfort.
One step at a time.
