skunks effects are different, but yeah i bet it's less harmful. It depends on what you want and how much. Also if you get randomly tested where you work, like i do, its not an option.

Don't smoke...don't drink....what do you do....
Well, really don't smoke hardly drink and have sex to make up for the other two LOL
PS My Dad was an avid smoker he finally quit has emphysema and is on breathing treatments and oxygen, I lost my Grandmother Grandfather, Aunt and Great Aunt from cancer on his side. My Mother was subjected to major second hand smoke and had Lymphoma when she passed this September.

I learned alot about why we smoke from my doctor/therapist.Nicotine definitly takes away anger. He recommends no smoking before our group sessions so we will feel everything and express it.
It's funny, I don't like the smell of cigarrettes, I don't inhale (intentionally) and I won't smoke in the house or around non-smokers. It really is a shame to subject anyone, especially children, to second hand smoke.
...but I will smoke

I'm a smoker and I try to go w/the crowd...if people don't like smoke all they have to do is tell me...crowded places are not polite places to smoke, unless of course its a bar.

I quit smoking.......at least 4 times!
I am now 2 years without a cig and sometimes still wish I could have one.
But I will never, ever smoke again. Because I watched someone die from it. Because I watched my MIL loose a finger and toe to it (!!!!), because it makes my clothes, hair and car stink, because it sets such a bad example for my kids...and because it broke my kids' hearts whenever they saw me light up.
It was so hard to quit. But thank goodness I have. It is worth all the withdawls in the world to be able to look at my kids in the eye and myself in the mirror.
To anyone thinking of quitting: You can do it!! Here is a good website for those wanting to quit: http://www.whyquit.com/whyquit/ (not for the faint of heart, or those who wish to continue smoking no matter what.)

Valis:
That is how I am. I do *not* smoke in people's houses, nor where I am not allowed to smoke.I am a smoker of the worst addicted kind. I adore smoking, but I don't like to smoke in places where I can't smoke.. and I don't smoke in people's cars, nor do I ask people at their houses if I can smoke. If I want to smoke, I just go outside to my own car. I am a very polite smoker. However, if people come to MY house, they have to put up with it. In my house, and my car, I smoke. If you don't like it, screw ya.. it is my house!
I know smokng is very detrimental to people's health, and I respect that. But if I am smoking outside, in a public area, with the wind blowing, and some asshole non-smoker asks me to stop smoking cuz it's blowing in their face, I tell them where to go: upwind. Sorry.. but you're rights don't overstep MY rights. The free air is just that: the free air. If you don't like it, you can go somewhere else. I ain't in your house, and I ain't in your car, and I ain't in an enclosed area with you, so just bite me.
I got health insurance, and THEY know I smoke, so I am *not* a drain on the public health facilities.. so I just do it when/where I am allowed to by law.
