Funeral for Non-JW Spouse...Family upset

    Funerals among JWs turns into a paradise sales pitch to all in attendance. They don't even talk about the life the person lived.

    Unless the person is extremely close to me, I don't attend anymore.

    Well grandmother had asked my father do her funeral. So he was trying to fulfill her wishes, I just don't think that she had any concept about what JW's believe. She jokingly told me before she died God was going to have to hold her hand and let her in thru the door because she couldn't see. She had such a sense of humor, right up until the end. I miss her so much.

    She picked the funeral home because it was owned by his cousins and it was free.

    Well, the KH would have been free too, so she obviously compromised and picked a more religously neutral location. I still think it is rude for other family members to make a fuss, especially to be disruptive or obvious at the actual funeral. It's disrespectful to the deceased and to his wife.
