I dated a number of Witness girls, but none of those relationships went anyware. However, as a younger, active JW, I also went out with a few ?worldly? girls from school and work. I never felt bad that I did it, but I was very nervous that JW?s would spot me on a dinner-date or something; I was an MS at the time. How many of you folks went outside the JW-network for dates, knowing that if you were found-out, you'd be in a heap of trouble?
As a JW, did you ever date someone who was not?

My teen years were in the late 50's and 60's and things were real different back then. Yes, I dated lots of "worldly" guys from school and the neighborhood. They were nice guys and never tried to seduce me, like the girls today are warned about. The JW boys did though. Bad experiences a couple of times. I was too naive.

Sort of. I did the fade and later got divorced. I started dating someone who was not a JW. Well I'm hardly going to date a JW if I'm not attending meetings. It did not go down well with my parents. My request to stay with them on a visit a few years ago with girlfriend was denied because she was not a JW and we were not married. (I didn't ask that we sleep together!) Well, we got married, a smallish event at a Cathedral, reception on a cruise boat with 70 guests. Parents did not accept invitation despite my readiness to furnish airline tickets.
3 1/2 years later, happily married to a wonderful person. We are planning a visit to the UK this summer, (unfortunately, I don't think it will coincide with any apostofests) and we will not be staying with my parents. (But, we will see them.)

yeah I did.. not when I was younger.. I was asked on dates but turned them down..
but as an adult.. well.. when I dated a 'brother' who I ended up having sex with.. well.. that was it.. I just sort of fell off the wagon and started dating 'worldly' men.. at the time I was still trying to be a JW.. but was feeling so guilty.. especially because often it lead to sex..

Well, does snogging behind the sports hall count as dating?

All the guys in my KH dated worldly girls, but we all married JWs. There were six of us. All are still married but 3. Two are dead and I am the only one who got divorced.(These were the ones my age back in the 50s)
