There are so many blood alternatives that I wish people would stop using blood altogether.

You are perpetuating a Jehovah's Witness myth. It's completely w/o foundation.

    Blood saves lives.

Is it a perfect, no risk therapy? No. But so what? What you are in effect wishing for, is that people would just go ahead and die rather than subject themselves to a life-saving therapy which has a slight but measurable risk of harm.

Remember super-model Nikki Taylor? I wonder if she'd agree that people should just "stop using blood altogether"? Her children wouldn't have a mom if she had been a witness.

I'm not saying that it doesn't....at all. It's just that it is a risky thing and I personally feel it isn't for me. Again, I can't say if I'm dying and they say that have give me a transfusion that I would say no cuz I've never been in the situation but I would try every other alternative.

the people that died due to not having a blood transfusion died because they chose to not have the transfusion so it's not something that we can blame the WTS about.

Bullshit. How many children died because of their parents choices? You spout all this jw nonsense, joysome. Are you vaccinated? Vaccines were a df'ing offense in some areas in the 50's. How many Jw children died of preventable diseases?

Again, it's choices. I don't know if you have children....but you may make choices that directly affect your children. But should you be punished or judged if you feel you were doing what was right at that time?

Look at my pic. That is my daughter.

But should you be punished or judged if you feel you were doing what was right at that time?

Do you think the parents who killed their epileptic kid trying to "exorcise his demons" recently should be punished or at the very least judged? Hell yes. I am a parent, and I've worked in group homes for years, taking care of children who's parents really messed them up, but I tell ya, 90% of those parents felt they were doing the right thing. If I was stupid enough to kill my kid by trusting a religion that I had'nt researched enough to realize that blood is'nt a big deal, yes, I should be judged AND punished.

So were you ever a JW or just always opposed? If you were once a JW then at one time you did believe believe in not giving blood. If the need were to have come and your child or yourself needed blood you probably would have made the decision to not allow the transfusion. I would not judge you for it...that is your decision. You have that right....and some people have researched and have come to the conclusion that it isn't something that they would choose be it for religious purposes or whatever.

I think that the blood issue and something like this is something totally different. Also, as far as the really messed up kids with parents that felt they were doing the right thing....again there is a difference. Medical treatment no matter what is a difficult situation. Something you may feel is right is something that someone else may not feel is right. I'm not trying to start an argument....just stating my opinions.

    Just curious. How so?

It's different because someone with the right now should know the difference between epilepsy and a demon attack........that's just ignorance.

Really? Don't the JW's believe in Demons? Do you think the philistines loved their god any less, or feared him? Did they love their children less? No, but they sacrificed them at the altar of ignorance. Just as the dubs continue to do to day, only with somewhat less frequency. Because of their slowly changing policy. No, I was not always "opposed". I was raised in the "lie" . I left at 19. Because right now, and even then, I knew the difference betwwen a 3,000 year old health regulation against eating blood, and a lifesaving transfusion, or a lifesaving vaccination. There is no difference. They kill their kids to show prestige for their god. Just the same as a burnt offering to Dagon. No difference.
