I think most JWs are not virgins when they get married. I'll bet the majority have "fooled around". What's your opinion?
Do You Think JW Youths "Do It"?

Maybe I was really naive, but I always took it as a given that my friends were all virginal. The more I think about it, though, it might have just been me. Damn!

got my forty homey?
I think more so today than say 20 or 30 years ago. Several years ago I was in a Jehovah Witness chat room and many youngsters in there (teens) were talking about having girl/boyfriends. I then asked them if it was proper for unmarried Joe Wits to have girl/boy friends if it was leading to marriage, and they said yes it was. I then explained to them that when I was a teen this was not allowed unless marriage was in the very near future. And they all said no, that things have changed. Maybe I would have been a better joe wit today then in the past.

Since I am somewhat fresh out I might be able to shed light on this aspect.
Us fringe kids were most definitely having sex, but not so much...and probably not with another witness. The fellow witnesses dating each other were most definitely being hot and heavy...sometimes having sex. Not too often though, as one would all of a sudden feel guilty and squeal. The future pioneers who were trying to be good would feel guilty about even DATING. A lot of the elders and parents STILL feel it is OK to force young kids to marry the first person they even look at romantically...not a healthy way to start a marraige.
That is still a huge pet peeve of mine...my little brother at least did not fall for it...he was dating a JW and everyone was being annoying, from people telling them that its weird for a white person (my brother) to marry a black person (his lovely girlfriend) to others telling them they should not even date unless they are getting married (um...how do you know you will marry them if you don't date them?) and then others just not minding their own business. They broke up and I feel because there were so much pressure put on them, one of the reasons a JW boyfriend and I broke up...they really discourage happiness in relationships. AARGH!

Years ago when I was a young, single brother, no one I knew (my age) was having unmarried sex. When some scandal did happen.... it was big news!
I married a JW girl and she and I were both virgins on our wedding day. She 18 years and myself 21 years. Way, way, too young!
Today, it's probably different, but I have no first hand knowledge.

Dammm...I must have missed that part. When I was young (a long time ago) we were told not to even hold hands...That led directly to SEX you see.We were also told not to even date because dating led directly to MARRIAGE (or SEX) and if we were not ready to get married we could not and would not even ask anyone for a date.
The one time I didn't heed this loving council I made the mistake of asking a girl out. I was new and "coming back in the truth"
The first words out of her mouth were I don't want to marry you so I can't.Talk about a bunch of control freaks. What was even worse was that as young people we bought into this nonsense as "truth"
If anyone remembers any more about these "control years" and how they treated the youth in the congo post it here.I would like to see a few more things added to the new and exciting quotes site.

In my opinion, it's probably 50/50. I knew some very devout JW kids that were scared to even touch an album made by Guns N Roses. Then there were the ones who like Guns N Roses. Guess which ones are virgins until they're married.
