What great stories! Keep them coming, I love reading them. My son used to say precious things like that when he was a little guy. Wish I would have written them all down now. He'll be a full-fledged adult next week, and it's somewhat bittersweet. My only son. How I love him. I don't see him alot, but he always hugs and kisses me and says "I love you Mom" when he visits. That makes me feel pretty darned special.

Growedup, I often wonder how long it will last. But he still likes to give me a hug and kiss before I go to work (albeit I can't kiss him on the face when I have my lipstick on) he stops me right away and kisses me on the cheek.

Hopefully his soft side will continue, and he'll grow up like his Dad, knowing how to make a woman feel loved.

Dansk, you're about the same age as my dad who is still a dub. Fancy being a surrogate grandpa around this time next year????

I don't mind talking footie so long as you don't bore me too much with Manu chat fortunately it looks like Plymouth are going up again this season so I'm rediscovering my interest in the game. Of course if we were talking rugby, now that's another matter .....

Last night my six year old made me a card that said:

To Mum, I love you ....can I have £1.50

Its actually very cute because the £1.50 is to take to school, and then the school will provide a mother's day gift for him to give me next week at the Mother's day assembly. He asked me about 5 times after he came out of school yesterday and made me a card just to be sure I didnt forget to put the money in his bag for today.

I thought it was very sweet

My four year old always says things like "Mum/dad I've got a new name for you". When we ask what is it its usually something like "Super Hero Dad" or "Super Mum" . Sometimes the names he comes up with for Simon are bit cheeky (lol) but I always get a nice name.

Shotgun, thanks for the hug, which is heartily returned ((((Shotgun))). I?m the same size as my beloved wife, Claire - five feet five inches! We're shorties!!

Satan?s little helper, it would be my honoured pleasure!

Happily, my two sons, who also left Watchtower, give me their unconditional love each and every day - and I'm amongst true friends here!

    Love,

It truly is possible to fall in love with your children all over again every day...

One february, when my son was about four we were walking through the grocery store and, noticing all the red hearts and pink streamers he asked me "Mom, what is Valentine's day?" I told him that it was a special day set aside to spend with someone you love very much. He thought about it for a moment and then said, in the sweetest little voice, "Mommy, can I spend Valentine's day with you?" It was such a sweet moment, and one I'll never forget.

An aisle over, a woman stopped us and said that she hadn't meant to eavesdrop but she had heard what he said and thought it was so sweet it made her weepy. Me too.

One more that I remembered: When I was a little girl and took a sack lunch to school, my parents would always include a little note with a simple message like "I love you" or "Have a good day" or "I'm proud of you" and it always meant the world to me. I continue this tradition with my children. When my son was in kindergarten, I opened my thermal lunch bag one day at work to find a piece of notebook paper covered with stars and happy faces in blue highlighter that said "I love you, From (his first and last name)". I still have it hanging on my office door.

I am extremely close to our 7 year old grandson (Princess' boy). He gives me so much love, openly. He usually runs into the house and into my arms, yelling "grandma, I missed you". He probably saw me yesterday.

I was babysitting the other night at their house, for an hour, and when his parents came home and into the room where we were, he had his arms around my neck, face pressed into mine, and had just told me he didn't have enough time with me that night.

He loves being at our house, and we love having him. A few weeks ago, he spent a weekend with us, and announced he is coming every weekend................and he asks if he can too. Grandkids are great.

Our eldest granddaughter is 18 and tells me "grandma, you are my hero". (I am usually available to give her a ride to work, or home from work, when no one else can)
