Sometime back I came across the first mention of Pastor Russell's followers to our area. The paper must have made a typographical error by calling them "Mussellites." I thought it was hilarious.

That's about how much people knew/know about Jehovah's Witnesses......callin them "Jehovahs."
My.... how his people have made an impact and preached his name in ALL the earth!! They have preached it so well and thorough that people call the dubs 'Jehovers'. They haven't got a friggin clue what the dubs teach or who in the hell 'Jehover' is either.
I wasted my damn time knockin on them damn doors for for over 30 years...... didn't I?

I always found it strange to go to a "Kingdom Hall". In German that even has four syllables "Koenigreichssaal" which btw is always spelled wrong by a good number of JWs in Germany.
When I was part of the local Public Affairs Team in the congregation I brought that topic up if it would not be better to find another name. I just got the reply that a change like that had to come directly from the Governing Body. -

ROTFLMAO
*wipes tears from eyes* *cleans up tea snorted onto keyboard*
Oh, how many times was I called a 'Jehovah'? Too many to count. My least fav was "JOHO", though, man, I wouldn't go back to being a JW kid for all the tea in China.
And how many times did I hear "I'm not a JW, I didn't even see the accident" .... puh - leaze!!!
Personally, I think they should change 'Kingdom Hall' to 'House of Pain & Boredom', but that's just one woman's opinion. *lol*

We always called ourselves "witnesses" but I think worldlings liked to slaughter the name by calling us Jehovers. I now call them J-duds or duds or JO HO's. They hate it! Typical conversation, "So are you still a JoHo?" And their reply with a twisted face, "Why yes of course...duh." Maverick
