We had a small female black cat who we lost just over a year ago. She was well over 20 years old. She was around when my eldest kids were very little and mothered around my other kids when they born and brought home from hospital.
She always slept at the bottom of our bed. Losing her was like losing one of the family.

Nah, I just found that pic - but it looks exactly like my kitty, I don't have a scanner, so couldn't put up a pic of her. I was thinkin', how did someone get my cat into that Amazon box w/out my knowing? True, she loved to get into boxes, but still ...

My BF died just over a year ago, too. I miss her so much, thus this thread.
IMHO, there is no better way to learn 'unconditional love' than from our four-legged, furry friends.

This pic I've found is identical to my kitten, I've named her after the cat from Red Dwarf. She was a feral rescue cat and I'm still trying to talk her round to being a house cat, shes a total psychopath, loves getting stroked but will literally rip your hand to bits if you try to pick her up. I'll talk her round.....
