Would a true religion have to be perfect?

The Perfect religon must be based on LOVE, we can't have a perfect religion with imperfect people, Jesus taught us about LOVE and if we learn how to show love to each otherthen it is about the best we'll get to a prefect religion. We can learn how to show love by thinking about how Jesus did things. The more love we have with each other then the less rules we'll need, the fact that living as a JW is filled with rules, regulations and procedures prove how little love they have.

    Good post Rick Aust

I agree that love should be the most important aspect in a religion. The witnesses say that they have love for each other, but it's not equally distributed.

I feel very much as Neyank noted in his post. Religion has so much polluted peoples minds that the word truth" in and of its self is in a gray area now when it comes to religion. Humans seem to make the rules of the day when it comes to Jehovah the God of the bible. One thing it seems reasonable is that such a God would have to be full of truth not falsehood with its half truths as religion has so much demonstrated.

I feel that when the biblical God Jehovah reveals himself it will by truth, and it will exhaust present religious ideas about him. Religion is deprived of even the most basic precepts of truth and justice so they could never be perfect in the true sense of the word. Perfection is what most scientist have been searching for they call it perfect (symmetry: beauty as a result of balance or harmonious arrangement") as to how the universe came to be, in other words creation. They are becoming closer and closer to that conclusion that the answer to all things is simply perfection through close association to the creator thoughts and finding his approval.

Jehovah tells us in the bible: "I am perfect, so you have to be perfect".

So if God is perfect and he demands that man becomes perfect, should the religion also have to be perfect?

ANY RELIGION THAT ATTEMPTS TO CONTROL THEIR MEMBERS, WITH SUCH SEVERITY AS TO CONTROL THEIR MEDICAL DECISIONS, AND THE SMALLEST OF DISAGREEMENTS REGARDING SCRIPTURAL OR MEDICAL BELIEFS ETC.

OUGHT TO DAMNED WELL BE PERFECT.

SINCE LIVES, MARRIAGES, FAMILIES ARE AT RISK OF DESTRUCTION AND DEATH.

SINCE PERFECTION IS OUT OF REACH. ANY ORGANIZATION THAT BEHAVES THIS WAY IS NOT ONLY A CULT BY DEFINITION. IT IS A DANGER TO SOCIETY.

A TRUTHFUL RELIGION ADMITS TO ERRORS, IS OPEN TO DISAGREEMENTS, AND REFUSES TO TAKE ON THE RESPONSIBILITY FOR MEDICAL AND OTHER PERSONAL DECISIONS.

TRUTHFUL RELIGIONS EXIST. I KNOW OF NO "TRUE" ALL KNOWING RELIGIONS. ANY RELIGION THAT CLAIMS TO BE ALL KNOWING TO THE EXTENT THEY OUGHT TO BE GIVEN CONTROL OVER YOUR LIVES ARE A "SNARE AND A RACKET". j.rutherford

When God said "I am perfect, therefore you must be perfect" he was referring to being partical, pls read the context of that verse. This verse does show some interesting points. Firstly it shows that in the area of being partical we can be perfect and it also shows that being imperfect isn't an excuse for everything.

I would expect that some of the beliefs unique to that "true" religion would be irrefutably demonstrably true, instead of superstitious eighteenth century claptrap.

Witnesses will sometimes tell you, for example, that they know "the true condition of the dead," but that belief is not unique to them - it is a belief shared by some other "false" religions, as well as by atheists.

"Approved association with Jehovah's Witnesses requires accepting the entire range of the true teachings of the Bible, including those Scriptural beliefs that are unique to Jehovah's Witnesses. What do such beliefs include?

That the great issue before humankind is the rightfulness of Jehovah's sovereignty, which is why he has allowed wickedness so long. (Ezekiel 25:17)

That Jesus Christ had a prehuman existence and is subordinate to his heavenly Father. (John 14:28)

That there is a "faithful and discreet slave" upon earth today 'entrusted with all of Jesus' earthly interests,' which slave is associated with the Governing Body of Jehovah's Witnesses. (Matthew 24:45-47)

That 1914 marked the end of the Gentile Times and the establishment of the Kingdom of God in the heavens, as well as the time for Christ's foretold presence. (Luke 21:7-24; Revelation 11:15-12:10)

That only 144,000 Christians will receive the heavenly reward. (Revelation 14:1, 3)

That Armageddon, referring to the battle of the great day of God the Almighty, is near. (Revelation 16:14, 16; 19:11-21)

That it will be followed by Christ's Millennial Reign, which will restore an earth-wide paradise.

That the first to enjoy it will be the present "great crowd" of Jesus' "other sheep."-John 10:16; Revelation 7:9-17; 21:3, 4.

I don't believe there is a true religion. Spirituality is between an individual and God.
