    Teachings for Our Children



    I can teach you about life
    But only you can live it.

    I can take you how to play
    But only you determines your happiness.

    I can teach you right from wrong
    But only you can decide.

    I can teach you about ethics and values
    But only you can follow them.

    I can teach you self respect but
    Only you can own it.

    I can show you by example responsibility
    But only you can own that too.

    You know the dangers of addictions and abuse
    But I can't say NO for you.

    We talked about goals and dreams for the future
    But only you can determine and acheive them.

    I can show you beautiful places
    But true beauty comes from within.

    I can pray for you, to walk the best path
    But only you can choose the road to take.

    I gave you the start of your life,
    Only you can determine the end.

    I can love you forever,
    regardless of your actions or choices.

    You can have the life you choose
    And I will cheer you on as you pursue it.

    Ughhhhhhhh....that makes me feel sick to my stomach. The same feeling I get everytime my mother sends me a letter with the same stuff in it. It makes me feel horrible like I'm not worthy of God's love unless I do my part as a JW..........I know how it must make your daughters feel. As many have said, luckily they have you and true unconditional love.

    was in the original. I thouhgt it was one of the few lines I could believe

    But

    I can love you forever,
    regardless of your actions or choices    .

    That is my line because regardless of their choices in life (and there have been some I wasn't keen on) I still love them and support them. And they know that.

    LL, give your daughters a big apostate hug from all of us. When I was their age, I would have been thrilled to have had someone like you in my life.
