"It seemed so controlling now that I reflect on it...Does any ex-elder no the thinking behind that???"

You don't need an ex-elder to tell you the answer...you already know it.

    Hello and welcome.

OMG , you have to be kidding me . I never heard of such nonsence. I wonder whose idea that was . I know it couldn't have been a woman but more likely the D.O . That does take alot of nerve to regulate someone using a friggen mirror .

Sassy: LOL "important information from the platform!" - If I had a nickel for everytime I heard that line....gag. :-)

Greenpalmtreesstillmine: Thanks for the bathroom insider info....I guess that makes sense. But it still irks me to think about.

Some convention centers were so overcrowded in the ladies rooms the sisters coming out of the stalls had no where to wash their hands because the sinks were all taken up with other sisters who were busy combing their hair or putting on make-up. When a crowded bathroom filled with sisters of all ages and children of all ages became impossibly overcrowded it was necessary at times to cover the mirrors in order to allow those sisters with small children and the older sisters to simply wash their hands.

A simple "Excuse me, I need to wash my hands" might have worked too.

But then again, the brown-paper-covered-mirrors probably cut down on a lot of crazy bathroom catfights.

my guess is it was about keeping the cleaning down.. you know how they are about simplyfying everything so you aren't kept from hearing the important information from the platform!

wouldn't it take more time to put up the brown paper and measure it and take it down and such, than it would be to clean the mirrors.

LMAO @ nilfun --- So much for jehovahs loving organization . They can't even share a friggen sink and mirror without throwing down on each other . Unbelievable.

    Nilfun,

A simple "Excuse me, I need to wash my hands" might have worked too.

Yes, that would have worked if the there had been room for the sister who was combing her hair to step aside but that was not always the case.

At one district convention I attended the brothers brought in bathroom trailers in order to accommodate the flood of sisters and small children attending because the bathrooms in the convention center were not adequate to the task. In that case the bathroom mirrors were not covered over because the facilities were more than sufficient for the crowd attending.
