  He complains because he's bitter about being demoted (fired essentially) and trying to curry favor with the Dems. And I mispoke the guy is actually an Independent...not a Democrat. Clarke's mismanagement actually goes all the way back to the 243 dead marines in Lebenon...and every other terrorist attack since then....and yes,,,Clinton had 8 years to do something about it...and was offered Bin Laden twice by the Sudanese...and Clarke advised against it...Clarke stopped a few other things as well....Bush had l 8 months from the time of his inaugaration until 9-11 (compared to Clinton's 8 years of inactivity), yet Clarke wants to lay the blame on Bush??? To be fair, neither Bush nor Clinton did enough...Bush changed his tune after 9-11 though...and thus far...AQ on the run...no more attacks in the US.

  I admit I didn't watch the whole thing, so forgive me if I make an incorrect statement (I'm also stunningly ignorant on politics), but after watching bits and pieces, it seems to me one thing he is accusing Bush et al., of trying to find a tie-in to Iraq so as to justify an attack on Iraq.

  Since WOMD have not been found in Iraq, I cannot understand what the justification for war was. It seems as if the real threat still has not been taken care of in Afghanistan/Pakistan. It seems wiser to have taken care of Taliban and Al-Qaeda first. It would have also given time to come up with definitive WOMD proof.

  Frankly I still cannot understand the reasoning for the Iraq war based on the information that has come out the past few months. I've heard everything from revenge (son wanting to atone father's mistake) to oil money. Honestly I don't know, and it feels like the truth has yet to come out.

  Also of interest that rather than come forward with this information two years ago, he waits until his book is out and an election year.

  Let's see, come out a year ago that this was a bad idea or hmmm.....wait a little bit until the election nears. Gosh, must be a coincidence.

  Bush was in office only 10 months when 9-11 happened. The first attack was in 93, under Clinton's watch.

  Only 10 months? How long was Clinton in office when 93 attack took place?.......38 DAYS.

  By the same token....you must blame Bush Senior for the attack.
