I wonder how the French will enjoy going alone after terrorists...
The report says that the bomb was far too small to cause any damage (obvious armature) and was nothing like the other bombs used (wrong signature).
I think this guy just wanted to be a hero so he planted the thing and then "found" it.
Europe 1 radio said the group described itself as "secular terrorists" but that police thought they were criminals trying to blackmail SNCF, Reuters reported.
Are "secular terrorists" exempt from the wrath of Jehovah??
In case you don't know, there was a threat on French railroads since the end of February by a mysterious group "AZF", from the name of a chemical factory which exploded in Toulouse in September 2001. Everybody at first was thinking of a connection with the 9/11 attack on WTC, but it proved to be an accident. What was found today was not a really working bomb, and nobody knows yet where it comes from. I think we need to get further information before bombing/invading any country in retaliation...

I've just flown back from Paris (and going back Sunday night) and was held up for two hours at Chalres De Galle while the sniffer dogs checked out a suspicious package. What pisses me off is that I should be in bed with Mrs SLH instead of still up working!
There were cops everywhere on the Paris stations today...
Btw, SLH, have you noticed my post on your Paris thread?
As Narkissos will acknowledge, the French have been dealing with terrorists since the 50's, as have the British and Germans for decades before 9/11. Exploding bombs in soft-target areas are nothing new to these nations. It is the US that until recently has been unaccustomed to living with such issues.

Nark, you've got a PM.
Unfortunately I won't be able to look at this board apart from weekends so you'll have to email me.
..what will France's surrender terms be?
