the greatest of love and peace to you!

You are correct that Hebrews 4:12 is speaking of our Lord, for verse 13 goes on to say ABOUT that "Word":

"And there is not a creation that is not manifest to HIS sight, but all things are naked and exposed to the eyes of HIM with whom we have an accounting."

How do we know that this is speaking of the Christ? Because... our "accounting" is not directly with God, although it is BEFORE God. God has appointed HIS SON... and it is before that One that "every knee must bend"... so as to make "open acknowledge TO God."

John 5:22; Acts 10:42; Acts 17:31; Romans 2:16; Romans 14:11 (the WTBTS changed it from "the Lord," to "Jehovah", but Philippians 2:10 clears it up)

It is just as when Israel had to go in before JOSEPH, in order to appeal... or make request from... Pharaoh (Genesis 41:38-44). Exact same thing. And I am SO glad you were able to "see"... and "hear"... and get the sense of it.

Now, off to respond to your other comments, and wish only that the undeserved kindness and mercy of our God and Father, JAH of Armies, and the peace of His Son and Christ, our Lord, JAHESHUA MISCJAH, is upon you... you and your entire household.

    Again, peace to you!

Your servant and fellow slave of Christ,

    dear ABBAgail... (peace to you!)

The name of my Lord is not "Jesus" at all. The name "Jesus"... is the English translation of "Ieosus"... which means "Je (Jah) is Zeus (Deus)"... or "Jah is God." However, it is one way that the True God, whose name is JAH... of Armies... or "JaHV(W)eh" (pronounced "YahVeh" - the "j" or "yodh" is pronounced like a "y"... and the "v" or "wah" is pronounced like a "v") has been confused an obscured by the Greek mythological god, Zeus.

The TRUE rendering of my Lord's name... is "JahEshua"... pronounced "Yah e Shua" or "Yah Shua" in Hebrew... or "JOSHUA" in English. "JAH" is the Father's name, in which our Lord came and will come again... and "eShua" means "saves" or "salvation."

The term "MISCHAJAH"... is incorrectly rendered in Hebrew as "Mashi ach"... but in English is phonetically correct as "Messiah". In TRUTH... it is "mischa"... pronounced "mee sha"... and means chosen or anointed... "Jah"... of JAH. "Chosen/anointed of JAH"... or "mischa Jah".

Thus, my Lord's TRUE name is "JahEShua"... meaning "JAH Saves" or "JAH is salvation"... "MischaJah"... "chosen/anointed of Jah".

The name "Joel" is not Jo-El at all... but is "Jah-El".. and means, in Hebrew, "JAH is God (el)." The name "Michael"... is "Mischa El"... or "Chosen of God." The name "Elijah"... is not pronounced "Ee ly Juh"... but is "Elee Yah"... and means "My God is JAH." "Abijah" is not "ab eye juh" but is "abbi JAH," meaning "my father is JAH." Thus, the ENGLISH rendering of the GREEK rendering of the word we know as "Abba"... is incorrect: it is "Abi, JAH".

Why the confusion? Phonetics. When translating, people wrote what they HEARD, verse what the true spelling was. "Abba"... sounds much like "Abi" and if the one speaking has an accent or different tongue, the error is born.

How do I know these things? Because by means of God's NAME... JAH... my Lord has taught me a great deal of ancient Hebrew and Aramaic. Can I speak it? Not really, but I can understand it when I hear it... at least, when HE speaks it to me. I will tell you more about that in another response below.

But God's name, JAH, and His position, God (El) is used throughout the naming of folks in the scriptures:

Yerem i JAH (my exalting is JAH)

Nehem i JAH (my comfort is JAH)

Ezek i El (my strength is God)

Dan i El (my judge is God)

Isa i JAH (my salvation is JAH)

Hose JAH (my deliverance is JAH)

Zechar i JAH (my remembrance is JAH)

Zephan i JAH (my concealment is JAH)

Jah El (Joel) (JAH is God)

Sam u El (Name of God)

El i JAH (my God is JAH)

El i sh JAH (EliShua) (my God of salvation is JAH)

I sra El (my contention with God)

Once you start with these basics, it's sort of easy to go from there, at least with regard to things written in the Hebrew writing.

The word "christ," however, is the Greek word for "chosen." It is a bit of an error, however, for it does not truly denote "chosen" of WHOM. ANYONE can be a "chosen" one - the issue is whether they are the "chosen" of JAH or not.

In that light, please note that the Greeks did actually have a word for the "chosen of JAH," the "mischaJAH," as the Hebrews/Assyrians called him. Their word was "messian". HOWEVER, what we have TODAY... is the Greek, "messian"... translated into the Greek "kristos"... translated into ENGLISH... "christ"... which, again, is not quite right. The error comes when we forget that the ORIGINAL "gospels" and the Revelation... were written in ARAMAIC (which is why some wording is kept in that tongue)... then translated to GREEK... then translated to LATIN... then translated to the "King's English,".... and THEN translated into modern English. And a LOT... got lost... in the translation(s).

So, I can refer to my Lord as many do - "Jesus"... or "Ieosus"... which means "Jah is Deus,"... "Christ"... which means "chosen/anointed one"...

OR... I can call him as he has told me he is truly called:

JAHESHUA ("Yah eShua") MISCHAJAH ("Mee sha JAH")... which means:

"Jah Saves; Chosen/Anointed One... of JAH."

    I choose the latter.

Moving on the next response... and again, of course, I bid you peace...

Your servant and a slave of Christ,

dear ABBAgail... and again, peace to you!

curious as to your opinions on a few things...

My opinion is of no matter whatsoever, dear one. I will tell you, however, whatever it is that my Lord says is true and permits me to share with you, if that's okay with you. Thanks!

One of the neatest things I've learned is that that scripture (in Corinthians/Paul) about all the 'gifts' no longer being active in modern times is 'phooey' to many of these other "christians"' and I'd, personally, like to believe it as well, ie:

The WTBTS have completely misstated Paul's (?) words. THEY say that such things were "done away with" entirely. But let's review what it SAYS. Let's start at the second sentence in 1 Corinthians 13:8:

"But whether there are prophesying, they will be done away with; whether there are tongues, they will cease; whether there is knowlege, it will be done away with." Now, right HERE we can see their error, for they say they have "the knowledge that leads to everlasting life," or at least such knowledge still exists. But according what is written in the verse, if PROPHESYING and TONGUES were to cease, then LOGICALLY... KNOWLEDGE would cease, too, yes? One would think... But lets go on with verse 9: "For we have PARTIAL knowledge and we prophesy PARTIALLY but when that which is COMPLETE... ARRIVES... that which is PARTIAL will be done away with." And verse 12... "For at PRESENT we see in hazy obscurity by means of a metal mirror, but then it will be FACE-to-FACE. At PRESENT... I know... PARTIALLY... but THEN I shall know ACCURATELY... even as I... am accurately known." What does this mean? That what exists NOW... is what is PARTIAL... but that when our Lord ARRIVES... he who is COMPLETE... we will know COMPLETELY. Since he has not yet ARRIVED... then what we have NOW... is still PARTIAL. And what things do we HAVE that are partial? The "gifts" of the Spirit, which gifts are listed at 1 Corinthians 4-11 and Romans 12:6-8.
Fasting is still a good thing...

It is not necessary, but there is no "law" against it. Rather than afflict one's flesh in this way, however, one COULD simply observe the TRUE fast of JAH:

    Isaiah 58:5-7
Speaking in Tongues is still a wonderful thing...(just heard a great lecture about this Sat. morn)

It is a gift of the spirit and so should not be condemned. However, it should be remembered that simply speaking in tongues is not for believers... but for UNbelievers. It is a manifestation of the spirit for those who need such. When it is done, the one speaking should either pray for the gift of interpretation ALSO... or that someone else can interpret. Otherwise, there is no benefit: it's just gibberish.

    1 Corinthians 14:20-28
    Being 'healed' still does happen...

Yes, and when it does, rather than scrutinize the one with the gift or even suspect his/her motive, one should rejoice over the benefit to the recipient. If the one with the gift is misusing it, to gain glory or money, then such one will have to answer to God, by means of Christ, but since such gift is FROM the Spirit, other should not "judge the house servant of another."

    1 Corinthians 12:9, 10; Romans 14:4; Matthew 7:22
    Prophesying is still happening, too.

Absolutely! And of the gifts of the spirit, Paul (?) said it was the most preferable one. But that notwithstanding, it was PROPHESIED:

"I shall pour out some of my spirit upon every sort of flesh and your sons and your daughters WILL PROPHESY... and even upon my men slaves and upon my women slaves I will pour out some of my spirit in those days, and they will prophesy." Acts 2:17, 18; Joel 2:28, 29
Some are even being raised from the dead (mostly in Africa and such places where spiritism runs rampant and, as one pastor from there said, the only way people there will believe, is if there is a 'power' (God/Jesus) who works miracles beyond those of their spiritistic leaders. Made sense to me).

If this is true... then PRAISE JAH! For how can we find fault with such a loving thing, that some who lost life and/or loved ones, have received it/them again? I can find no fault with such a thing: we ALL want to live, NO ONE wants to die... and to find fault with others for wanting and receiving the same thing... is hypocritical. And to say that such is from "demons"... could be blasphemous. Personally, I have NO desire to "go there!" I would rather "rejoice"... with those who "rejoice."

I'm inclined to believe since Jesus IS still ALIVE and head of his 'body,' that he very well can and does bestow such 'gifts' on whomever he pleases and at any time in history that he so pleases.

And does it not say that through Christ, God "shows mercy to whomever HE wishes," and places each "member" in the "Body" just as HE pleases?

One of the happiest times in my life, while still a JW, was during the years I took up water fasting for health reasons even though the WT poo-poo'd it for ANY reason, physical or spiritual. Someday I hope to work up the 'discipline' to do it again. It's a great feeling to 'get cleaned' inside and out, and being so 'cleaned out,' it just makes you feel nothing but love for everybody! That is what I remember the most about it, besides it helping the figure! ;-)

Well, if you do it, I hope you "feel" the same way... although I would suggest that if you want to feel this way ALL of the time, and not just for a few days/weeks... then you can cleanse the "inside" of your "cup"... by cleansing your HEART... and your SPIRIT... the "man" you are on the INSIDE... with the help, direction... and blood... of the Son of God.

Again, may the undeserved kindness and mercy of my God and Father, the Most Holy One of Israel, whose name is JAH... of Armies... and the peace of His Son and Christ, my Lord, JAHESHUA MISCHAJAH, be upon you! Your servant and fellow slave of Christ, SJ

There would be thousands (millions?) more believers here in the West as well if miracles happened.

If you believe that, dear New Light... and peace to you!... then you've totally missed the point of my Lord's last words to Thomas, as well as the point behind the accounts of those he is recorded to have healed. They RECEIVED what they did... NOT because they saw a miracle, but because they did NOT see one... and yet believe it possible. They had... FAITH... and it is a LACK of faith that prevents miracles. Those who "doubt" should suppose that they will receive nothing... for they are indecisive.

And why do they doubt? Because in the western world, folks almost every whim is provided. They do not go hungry, sleep in ditches, have rampant disease and deformity, etc., and so, do not think they have NEED to call on God... until they are perhaps threatened with repossession of their Acura or split-level... or their own child comes down with some awful malady.

In the REST of the world, however, given the unbelievably high levels of tragedy... folks know that God is the only One TO call on... the only One who CAN save them... for neither their neighbors, their governments, nor the rest of the world can... or will. Since they realize that they cannot look to earthling man for help... they look to God. And... they are rewarded for their FAITH... in doing so.

And we're not talking about Benny Hinn "healing" someone's disease or some poor church making its mortgage payment at the last minute. We're talking about real, undeniable, supernatural events that are beyond any doubt, like the ones that supposedly happened in centuries past.

You may need such "phenomena"... but, personally, I think the poor sick mother in Africa would be quite happy with a mere healing... for herself and perhaps her child(ren)...

Surely the sovereign of the universe could conjure up something.

Why? So that you have your "senses" pleasured? Are you in NEED of a miracle, dear New Light? Or do you just want to "see" one... so that you can THEN say, "Okay, yes, NOW I believe"... and THEN put faith in God? Miracles occur every day, dear one. But I would check my motive, if I were you. For perhaps it is not "pure"... but is "wanting."

We are supposedly created in his image

You are in error and have been misled with this supposition. Adam... was made in God's image. We... are made in the image of Adam... AFTER he was bound by flesh with its blood, AFTER it was sealed... in imperfection. Right NOW... we bear HIS image; it is later that we can/will bear the image of God, by means of Christ.

    1 Corinthians 15:47, 49

and part of our makeup is the ability to reason and, if necessary, doubt.

We received the first from God, for it is an ability and GIFT... of His SPIRIT...

    Genesis 2:16, 17; 1 Corinthians 12:4, 8; Matthew 17:5

and the second... from Adam and Eve... for it is RESULT... of their selfishness:

    Genesis 3:6, 10, 17

It's only fair to expect irrefutable proof before signing over our current beliefs and feelings.

Me thinks that it would depend on who set the "rules"... as to what is "fair." Since God, through Christ said that one must exercise faith FIRST... that one must "sign over" one's beliefs so as not to doubt and one's feelings so as to be certain... FIRST... then to NOT do so... would be "unfair". That is, if one has condescend to play the "game"... according to the "rules." If not... then the entire matter is MOOT anyway, is it not?

I bid you peace, dear New Light. And FAITH... to have eyes to see that which you seem to be claiming you wish to.

    A slave of Christ,

    SJ

You must realize of course that many here are very turned off by biblical quotation, as they associate it with jwism and TV evangelacists.

Then perhaps, dear xjw_b12, they should act as the "adults" they wish others to view them as... and not open, read and/or respond to threads that offend them. Particularly when no offense at all is intended. We are not children, dear one. Well, technically, we're not. We cannot know that the stove is hot, touch it, and then scream "foul" at the stove and have the stove be at blame.

I post pretty much the same type of stuff and have been for 3 years now. You know this. Almost everyone here does. And yet, the same folks keep being offended. Do I grab their hands and direct them to my threads/posts? Do I compel their fingers to move their "mice" and click where I will? Nope. But they keep "visiting". Now, why IS that, exactly? Because "biblical" stuff offends them? They keep reading what I post, yet knowing that it will OFFEND them? What sense does THAT make?

I offer you another theory, dear David: they keep coming because they are LOOKING FOR SOMETHING. But even they do not know what, yet. But they will, when they find it. Or rather, when he... "finds" them. They don't want to "miss the boat," either... but simply don't have the COURAGE to stand up and be counted ("what if she's wrong? I'll look like a fool! But what if she's right? What does mean for me?")

They don't know what they want, dear David... and so, like little children who don't know what they want... they become "irritable". So be it. I take no offense. Again, I find it amusing. Quite.

I bid you peace, and I am,

Your servant and a slave of Christ,

    SJ
