after all, it's not illegal to drink the wine. what can they do, call the police on you? and you'd give them a decade's worth of out-in-service gossip.

To attend this meeting is to assist Watchtower in pumping up its figures. The more who stay away the better.

Amen to that, Ian. I am not going to walk their walk anymore. I remember being so encouraged when inactive ones "at least came to the Memorial". That made us know for sure they still believed it was the truth.

I can't even imagine being able to sit through it with a straight face, and being quiet. I suspect there would be many heavy sighs coming from me.

The last one I went to was in 1997, and I was on a business trip in Malaysia. I went out of curiosity mainly to see if it was the same. It was.

I think each person should do what they feel is best for family and their circumstances.

Either way, if we attend or not, we do not "sin". Do what is best for your family and to keep peace with those you love.
